What is a distinction in matric?

What percentage is a distinction? In South African high schools , a distinction is given if you have an average of 80% or more.

    Is 70 percent a distinction?

Generally, at the school level percentages of 75-85 are considered average while above 95 is exceptional. At the university level however percentages between 60-79 are considered excellent and are quite difficult to obtain. The university awarding distinction at 70% may have a passing mark of 45%.

Is 70 a distinction in university?

Thus, at the University of Cape Town and the University of South Africa (UNISA), the percentages are calibrated as follows: a 1st class pass is given for 75% and above, a second (division one) for 70 – 74%, a second (division two) for 60%-69%, and a third for 50 – 59%. Any lower than 40% is a fail.

How many percent is a distinction?

    What do my marks/grades mean?

    High Distinction (HD): 85%–100%
    Distinction (DN): 75%–84%
    Credit (CR): 65%–74%
    Pass (PS): 50%–64 %
    Fail:(FL) 0%–49 %

    Is 75% a distinction?

Distinction: A superior performance; mark range 75-84. Indicates that the student has demonstrated superior ability to consider the course and its assessment requirements from a number of perspectives and to explore their interrelation.

Is 60 a good mark at university?

    The Grading System in the U.K. First-class honours – typically 70% or higher. Second-class honours, upper division – typically 60 – 69% Second-class honours, lower division – typically 50 – 59%

    Is 60 a bad mark?

60% is usually considered to be a “passing” grade—usually a D. So it is not a “failing” grade. It means that the student has met the requirements of the course but below the average expectations of the course. A grade of 50% or lower indicates that the student has only fulfilled half of the expectations of the class.

    Is 62 a bad grade?

A – is the highest grade you can receive on an assignment, and it’s between 90% and 100% B – is still a pretty good grade! D – this is still a passing grade, and it’s between 59% and 69% F – this is a failing grade.

Matric Results 2025-2026 How to Get It

    0

zainfo.co.za is pleased to inform you on Matric Results 2025-2026

The marking of the Matric papers is in progress, but where can you access your results once it has been released?

The tradition of publishing matric results in the newspaper has held up despite calls to end this practice.

Viewing your Matric results in public or alongside your fellow class mates can be exciting as it allows other people to share in your success. But it can also be embarrassing if the results are not what you expect.

On the contrary viewing your results privately allows you to process your achievement or failure without the added pressure of meeting other peoples expectations.

Various organisations have now made it possible for matrics to access their results in private via sms or digital platforms.

You can sign up with the ENCA to have your results delivered to your phone.

You can also view your exam results through the Department of Basic Education. All you need to do is provide your Exam number.

SABC Education and EWN are also known for providing exam results to Matrics so keep a lookout for these online platforms.

Waiting for your Matric results can be stressful, but finding out where you can access your results may help to alleviate some of the anxiety.

How To Reverse Payment On Capitec App 2025-2026 | Full Guides

We are pleased to inform you about how To Reverse Payment On Capitec App 2025-2026 | Full Guides

Sending money to the wrong person happens to the best of us – and that’s why it is important to know how to reverse payment on Capitec Bank if you’re their customer.

Fortunately, it is possible to do it in case the unintended recipient has not yet used the funds.

How to reverse payment on Capitec

To reverse payment on Capitec which is not a debit order, you need to call the Capitec reverse payment contact number, which is 0860102043. A customer care representative will then assist you with the recall, according to a recent Twitter reply by the bank.

“Please note that a recall fee will apply and that a successful recall cannot be guaranteed. Late recall of transfer to Capitec Bank account – R7. Late recall of transfer to another bank account – R160,” the bank stated.

The recall normally involves an electronic funds transfer (EFT), which is often used to make a payment to a beneficiary on the Capitec app, internet banking or other platforms.

Judging from replies by the bank’s social media representatives, it may not be possible currently to reverse a payment using the Capitec app. The only option appears to be calling the contact number.

We will be on the lookout for when this changes and will update this article accordingly.

    Capitec immediate payment reversal

In response to a customer’s inquiry recently on whether they could make a Capitec immediate payment reversal or not, the bank responded that this is not possible.

“We cannot reverse immediate payments as they reflect instantly. You may contact the recipient for assistance,” the bank stated on Twitter.

Therefore, it is advisable to take the utmost precaution when making immediate payments. You may be lucky if the unintended recipient is an honest person who will reimburse you voluntarily. Otherwise, you could end up with a long legal process of recovering it from them or you could lose your money altogether.

    Final thoughts

As always, it is important to check and reconfirm that all the recipient’s details are correct before effecting payment. In all cases, the app asks you to confirm once you have entered all the details.

In the event you have transferred to the wrong recipient, move quickly to initiate a reversal as per the process outlined above.

Independent Examinations Board(IEB) Login-Application, Results, syllabus

The Independent Examinations Board, or IEB, is a South African independent assessment agency which offers examinations for various client schools, mostly private schools. It is most prominent in setting examinations for the school-leaving National Senior Certificate, or NSC for its client schools

The IEB exams are considered by many teachers, parents, students and universities, both within South Africa and abroad, as a more challenging and comprehensive assessment than the State NSC. Students with excellent IEB results have been accepted to Ivy Leagueand Oxbridge institutions without taking further requirements such as A-levels. (SATs (or ACTs) are required for all major U.S. universities – the IEB NSC does not exempt students from this requirement.)
