DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

The Rhodes Food Group have a Food Safety Internship position for a final year student, pursuing their studies towards a B Science / Diploma / Degree in Food Science / Bio-Technology / Food Technology. Candidates who need Workplace Programme training prior to completing their studies may apply.

Location: Makhado (Louis Trichardt), Limpopo

Duration: 6 to 12 months

Responsibilities, functions and key activities of the position:

• Assisting with factory trials (with or without NPD)
• Conducting lab trials and report writing on method and results
• Product retorting verification (datatracers, F0, PU)
• Food Safety System documentation (maintenance and upgrade)
• Internal auditing (PRP’s)
• Data logging
• Production quality control activities
• Traceability excersises

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

• Must be living in Makhado or willing to relocate to Makhado
• Education required: must have completed grade 12
• Education required: must be currently studying towards B Science/ Diploma/ Degree in: Food Science/ Bio-Technology/ Food Technology
• Working experience: must have less than 1 year working experience
• Must be computer literate
• Must have strong communication skills
• Must have strong analytical skills
• Must be strong people skills
• Must have good team management skills
• Must have international research skills
