    DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

    The Rhodes Food Group have a Food Safety Internship position for a final year student, pursuing their studies towards a B Science / Diploma / Degree in Food Science / Bio-Technology / Food Technology. Candidates who need Workplace Programme training prior to completing their studies may apply.

    Responsibilities, functions and key activities of the position:

    • Assisting with factory trials (with or without NPD)
    • Conducting lab trials and report writing on method and results
    • Product retorting verification (datatracers, F0, PU)
    • Food Safety System documentation (maintenance and upgrade)
    • Internal auditing (PRP’s)
    • Data logging
    • Production quality control activities
    • Traceability excersises

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

    ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP

    The Afrox Learnership programme will run over the course of 12 months, whereby students will take part in on-the-job training, including practical learning and theoretical classroom learning.

    Students must sign a tripartite contract between the student, Afrox and CHIETA SETA. Those who completed the programme will receive a National Certificate: Business Administration NQF Level 3.
    The programme aims to provide career opportunities within Afrox, help develop competencies are required in Afrox, and to create a pool of knowledgeable and skilled staff.

    Clicks have learnership positions available for candidates who are passionate about healthcare and delivering quality patient care, and wish to work while studying towards a qualification. Candidates who complete the learnership programme will qualify as a Pharmacist Assistant.

    The Clicks Group currently have these learnership positions available:

    1) Basic Learnership Programme:
    Students will complete the following qualifications: National Certificate: Pharmacy Assistance Learnership Programme (Learner Basic Pharmacist Assistant) and a Further Education and Training Certificate: Pharmacist Assistance (Learner Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant) through the accredited Pharmacy Healthcare Academy.
    The programme will include: practical and theoretical components, resulting in a qualification that is registered on the National Qualification Framework (NQF). The Learnership Training Contracts will be conducted at a registered Clicks Pharmacy, under an approved tutor.
    Duties and responsibilities: will include providing support to the healthcare team at a Click’s Pharmacy, supervised by a registered Pharmacist and within the legal scope of practice as outlined by the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC). Students must attend the essential training interventions and complete competency assessments, as well as submit a Portfolio of Evidence.
    Work back agreement: after the learnership programme is complete, students will be required to enter into a work back contract with Clicks – to work as a qualified Pharmacist Assistant for a period of time equal to the duration of learnership.
    2) Pharmacist Assistant Learnership Programme:
    Students will complete the following qualifications: National Certificate: Pharmacy Assistance Learnership Programme (Learner Basic Pharmacist Assistant) and a Further Education and Training Certificate: Pharmacist Assistance (Learner Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant) through the accredited Pharmacy Healthcare Academy.
