Description:

The Therle Drake Postgraduate Scholarship will be available annually and applications should be made by 15 November or 15 March in the year following, or the year in which the project is planned. All instrumentalists are eligible, though preference may be given to a piano student.

Eligibility for the Therle Drake Postgraduate Scholarship:

Applicants must be enrolling or have enrolled for postgraduate study at Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington.
Student should be attending a short course; or attending and/or participating in a concert and/or masterclass in Europe, North America or Australia.
The scholarship is open to New Zealand citizens, permanent residents and international students.

Selection criteria:

The applicant must be enrolling or have enrolled for postgraduate study at Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington, and remain in good academic standing.

Documents required:

A personal statement outlining the project and its benefit to applicant’s career plans.
A detailed budget.

Candidates should be enrolled in a full-time course at UTS based on a UTS recognized Diploma qualification with a GPA of 3.4 out of 4.0 or equivalent.

Value of the Scholarship:

Students must demonstrate a minimum of two years of work experience in the field of development.
Applicants should satisfy the entry requirements into the academic MDP program.
Candidates must demonstrate an excellent professional and academic track record.
Previous coursework in mathematics, statistics, and economics is recommended.
English language proficiency is required. Valid TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo, exam date should be within two years of the graduate program start. Minimum required scores: 100 ( TOEFL internet – based, minimum 22 on each section), 7 (IELTS, minimum 7 on each section), or 120 Duolingo, minimum Literacy Subscore: 120 or above).
