    Programme Duration:
    The programme will run for a duration of 1 year and will commence on 1 March 2022 and end on 28 February 2023. In the first 5-6 months of the programme, the candidates will develop their typing and keyboard skills as well as get an introduction into both the general workplace and legal environment.

    Only candidates who have successfully completed this phase will move on to phase 2/ the second half of the programme. The second phase focuses mostly on preparing the candidates for the ‘real-life work environment’ and concentrates on advanced audio typing, typing speed, presentations and spreadsheets, as well as other necessary secretarial skills, such as writing letters and memos, note-taking, responsibility, taking initiative, as well as preparing different types of necessary correspondence.

    Candidates will partake in practical training, a mid-year exam, as well as an astringent final exam, and the training during the programme will consist of departments such as Trade Marks, Patents, Commercial and Conveyancing. In order to pass this programme and achieve an NQF-4 in Business Administration Services, the candidates would need to pass thorough keyboarding, computer, and logistic skills test.

    DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

    Sunshine Cinema are looking for 20 learners to join the Sunbox Ambassador (SBA) Learnership Program. The programme will run over 9 months, full-time and will commence in March 2021.

    Locations: Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng (excluding Johannesburg), Kwa-Zulu Natal (excluding Durban), Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West, Northern Cape, Western Cape (excluding Cape Town).
    Positions available: 20
    Duration: 9 month full-time learnership program.

    • SBAs will host 2 free film screenings each month in their communities (dependent on COVID restrictions), on Sunshine Cinema’s Sunbox solar powered mobile cinemas, of a wide range of award winning African fiction and documentary films over the course of 9 months.
    • Learn how to produce podcasts with community members about key local issues, which will be placed on a zero rated data free platform.
    • Entrepreneurial training and guidance – including 6 months learning (virtual classrooms and workbooks) and 6 months of Mentorship support (1 session each month).
    • Use of a Sunbox and it’s equipment shared with one other Sunbox Ambassador in the same region, for 9 months.
    • Stipend for data, airtime, transport, and screening costs and participation in online course (on condition that R1000 in gig work is secured per month per SBA), for 9 months.

    ABOUT THE COMPANY

    Lancet Laboratories is one of the top pathology laboratories with operations across Africa. Lancet provides monitoring and diagnostic pathology services in South Africa, Mozambique, Mauritius, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Uganda, Botswana, Kenya, Swaziland, Zambia, Rwanda and Ghana.

    ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP

    Lancet Laboratories Learnerships are available in the following career fields:

    • Biomedical Technology
    • Laboratory Assistant
    • Phlebotomy Technician
    • Phlebotomy

    The learnership programme generally runs over the course of 2 years. Candidates will receive a stipend each month, but are responsible for covering the cost of their own accommodation, meals and transport.

    Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by Lancet – if you have not received any feedback within 2 weeks of the application closing date, please regard your application as unsuccessful. Candidates will also be subjected to background checks.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Candidates interested in applying for this learnership position should ensure that they meet the following criteria – failure to meet ALL of these requirements will result in your application being denied.

    • South African citizen
    • Completed Matric
    • Must have passed Mathematics, English and Life Science in Matric
    • Good command of the English language (able to read, write and speak English)
    • Computer literate
    • Knowledge of MS Word and Excel
    • Have your own transport and accommodation
    • Clear criminal record
    • Completed a first aid course (advantageous but not essential)
    • Completed a home-based care training course (advantageous but not essential)

    ABOUT THE COMPANY – WBHO

    The history of WBHO dates back to 1970 when John Wilson and Brian Holmes founded Wilson-Holmes (Pty) Ltd – since its inception, the company has gone through various mergers before being names WBHO Construction in 1994.

    The JSE listed company is one of the biggest Southern African construction companies, with offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth and Durban.

    WBHO are involved in various construction activities including Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Roads and Earthworks.

    ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME

    WBHO Learnerships are available within the following fields (BTech/ BEng/ BSc/ National Diploma):

    • Civil Engineering
    • Quantity Surveying
    • Construction Management
    • Building Science

    Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and requested to attend an interview.

    WBHO learners will receive a salary which is determined by their current year and field of study, however no extra employment benefits will be provided. Students will be required to work according to site specific requirements.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

    • South African citizen
    • Completed Matric
    • Studying full-time towards one of the aforementioned qualifications
    • Achieved a minimum overall average of 60% in your previous year of study
