    SAFCOL (South African Forestry Company SOC Limited) is a state-owned forestry company under the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) and is the third-largest within the country. SAFCOL operates within Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal, Mozambique and Mpumalanga, with its business activities rooted within the forestry industry.

    SAFCOL’s learnership programmes aim to educate and equip candidates with knowledge of the industry and award them with a full qualification upon successful completion of the programme. This formal 12-month programme will consist of both practical and accredited theoretical training and will take place at the SAFCOL training centre (Platorand) located in Sabie, Mpumalanga.

    During and after the programme:
    During the programme, candidates will enhance their skills and knowledge of the industry (thus preparing them for future employment within the field) as well as receive a monthly stipend.

    Upon successful completion of the programme, the candidate will obtain a nationally recognised certificate – an NQF level 3 General Education and Training Certificate Silviculture.
