    Key Performance Areas of the Programme:

    • Ensuring the end to end import permit process is managed with a key focus on: applying and sending permits to the requesting plant and ELC, and communicating with the Demand Planner about potential risks pertaining to product supply as well as taking action to alleviate this
    • According to the schedule, providing assistance with on-time product receipts by issuing pre-alert (ASN) at the Logistics Service Provider (LSP)

    DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

    Location: Bloemfontein, Free State

    Transnet is offering a Tool Maker apprenticeship to a trainee to join their Engineering team. During the apprenticeship, the candidate will report to the Manager. The aim of the programme is to offer candidates comprehensive bursaries and train them as professional Artisans.

    Key Performance Areas of the Programme:

    • Attending all training pertaining to theory
    • Completing knowledge review tests
    • Partake in training that is practical
    • Performing workplace components
    • Ensuring progress is recorded in the logbook
    • Completing training request forms in order to submit them to the Trainer and request assessment
    • Preparing for trade tests
    • Completing all assessments
    • Evaluating the final process of the assessments
    • Ensuring all feedback is received pertaining to the results of final assessments

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

    Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

    • Must be a South African Citizen
    • Education requirement: must have completed any of the following qualifications:
      • National Trade Certificate- 2 (NTF-2) with four trade subjects passed
      • NQF-3/ or higher with seven relevant subjects passed
      • Technical Matric (NSC) including Pure Maths and Physics as subjects, along with relevant trade theory passed
    • Must NOT be employed
    • Must NOT be involved in any other programme
    • Must be under 35 years old (preferable)
    • Must be committed to work
    • Must have excellent time management skills
    • Must have high attention to detail
    • Must be able to follow and take instructions and suggestions well
    • Must be goal orientated
    • Preference will be given to individuals part of previously disadvantaged groups, in accordance with the Employment Equity Act
    • Preference will be given to individuals with disabilities and women
