    Duration: between 1 and 12 months

    Sage is offering a Software Engineering internship with the primary focus being to equip the candidate with knowledge and skills, to not only become an asset to the Software Engineering team but also, benefit them in their tertiary studies. Sage internships last anywhere between 1 month to a year and are offered to students on a full-time basis during vacation time and part-time during studies. The internship will allow the candidate to quickly merge into the Sage workplace, making them ready to take on any role and become an asset to the company.     ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP:

    In October 1983, Garnet van der Walt established Lowveld Bus Service. A number of vehicles were bought in Kimberly from SA Transport and brought to Ellisras. With no workshop, a small depot was built on a minute piece of land on the boarder of town. Over time and due to a lot of growth, a more flourishing depot was built in Onverwacht Ellisras in 1989 to maintain the new business in a safe and reliable environment.

    As the transport demand increased over the years, the Department of Roads and Transport awarded Lowveld Bus Service a kilometre based tender for transportation in 1998. In 2001 Lowveld Bus Service was bought by new owners and to this day the new board consists of the following directors: Mr LJ Rossel, Mr MK Seleka and Mr TW Papo. Today the company is still sustainable, with its number of shareholders- Louis Rossel Trust, local tribal authorities and Mr TW Papo, one can see why Lowvewld Bus Service still achieves many heights today.

    Dis-Chem Pharmacies are inviting Finance graduates to enter an Internship programme within the finance department. Candidates will assist the finance department with a variety of tasks and duties, including: invoice capturing, creditor account reconciliation and other financial tasks assigned.
    Duties and responsibilities:

    • helping with daily data capturing
    • ensuring invoices are captured accurately
    • ensuring creditor’s payment reconciliation is correct
    • processing journals when requested
    • ensuring loaded for payment are approved by senior management and signed off
    • accurately and neatly filing creditor’s documents
    • preparing creditors reconciliations are on time every month
    • reconciling large quantities of accounts – weekly and monthly
    • checking up on suppliers and warehouse claims
    • checking up on outstanding workflows
    • acquiring suppliers credit note claims
    • preparing payment requests and all supporting documentation, accurately and on time
    • ensuring invoice reduction on invoices not been fully received or with price variations

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

    • Must be a South African citizen
    • Must have completed Matric (NSC) or Senior Certificate
    • Must have completed a BCom Finance Degree
    • Must knowledge of Financial Accounting
    • Must have business financial skills
    • Must have reliable transport or a valid driver’s license
    • Must have a clear credit record and a clear criminal record (checks will be conducted with MIE)
    • Must be computer literate and have experience working in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Must be able to perform basic accounting calculations
    • Must be honest, reliable and trustworthy
    • Must pay close attention to detail and have a high level of accuracy
    • Must be diligent and self-motivated
    • Must be deadline driven
    • Must have good time management skills
    • Must be able to analyse financial reports
    • Must be fluent in a second language (advantageous but not essential)
