    Robben Island Museum (RIM), established by the Department of Arts and Culture in 1997, is a public entity responsible for the management, maintenance, presentation, development and marketing of Robben Island as a national estate and World Heritage Site.

    RIM is also responsible for managing and maintaining the Islands assets, including the Medium and Maximum Security Prison Complexes, Robert Sobukwe’s House, Curio shops, Village Shops, the Village Precinct and related recreational facilities, as well as the Helipad and runway on the Island, World War 2 memorials, power generation and water processing plants, Jetty 1 and the Nelson Mandela Gateway the Mayibuye Archives, the 3 ferries that transport people to the Island and buses used by tourists on the Island.

    The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) is one of 21 SETAs operating in South Africa.

    The CETA provides the construction sector with skills development services, allowing people to gain critical or scarce skills needed to build the capacity of the construction sector to become economically sustainable and globally competitive.

    DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

    Locations: Midrand, Gauteng (CETA Head Office)
    Number of positions available: 2
    Contract duration: minimum of 12 months

    CETA are inviting Marketing/ Public Relations/ Business Management graduates to join their fixed-term Communications and Public Relations internship contract, for a period of 12 months.

    Key Performance Areas of the Programme:

    • Dealing with enquiries and correspondence relevant to the Unit
    • Keeping units records and files up to date
    • Keeping relevant databases up to date
    • Keeping relevant data up to date
    • Preparation of meeting agendas and minute taking
    • Preparation of and handling documentation for units reports
    • Compiling data and material for reports (monthly and quarterly)
    • Administrative duties and to co-ordination of the units budgeting process
    • Plan workshops and other events for the unit
    • Compiling information for audit preparation
    • Assist with administration tasks of communications and public relations functions
    • Follow through with duties delegated by units Manager

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

    • Must be a South African Citizen
    • Must have completed Matric (NSC)
    • Must have completed one of the following qualifications: Marketing Relations: Bcom / Marketing Relations: National Diploma / Public Relations: National Diploma / Business Management: National Diploma / Business Management: Bcom / or equivalent
    • Must NOT have taken part in any prior SETA sponsored internship programmes
    • Must NOT have been permanently employed in the past
    • Working experience (including vocational work) is advantageous but not essential

    Highbury Media are looking for an editorial and social media intern to join the team of lifestyle and digital editors, who work on the magazines published for The Foschini Group.
    Candidates should have a tertiary qualification in English / Journalism with a strong interest in the digital sector (including social media and content creation). The programme will commence in March 2021.

    Interns will be exposed to the following job roles:

    • Posting and monitoring content generation across relevant platforms for several leading online platforms, on a daily basis
    • Monitoring and facilitating engagement across all relevant platforms
    • Assisting in brainstorming of new social media initiatives and campaigns
    • Brainstorming content ideas and generating content for the website on a daily basis
    • Sourcing and editing relevant images and videos
    • Brainstorming and pitching content ideas for 5 online platforms
    • Writing content tailored to various audiences. (including news, lifestyle, tech)
    • Attending events, launches, and reviews for the brand and incorporating social media at events
    • Being an ambassador for the brands represented
    • Creating basic digital design (including image resizing and creation of original artwork)
