    ELCB is offering an internship for a candidate interested in joining the company in the role of Intern Developer. The selected candidate will assist Developers with their daily development tasks, and will be supervised by a Direct Manager and Mentors they have been assigned to work with.

    1) Stakeholder support internship:

    Salary: between R3 500 and R8 329.27 (costs to company with no benefits)
    Contract period: maximum 12 months

    The City of Johannesburg (CoJ), Library and Information Services Directorate, Community Development Department are inviting youth residing within Johannesburg to apply for the internship programme. The aim of of the programme is to allow students to experience on-the-job exposure and attain academic qualifications as a pre or post requirement for academic qualifications in accordance with the increasing demands of the tertiary institution.

    The main goal of the intern is to: assist with the delivery of Human Settlements in the Cores of the City and the Corridors of Freedom, as well as assist the specialists with determining land and building plot usage within a community, assist with project packaging or audits.

    Key Learning Areas:

    • Assist with procedural requirements coordination relating to delivery of human settlement.
    • Assist with admin support relating to the Unit.
    • Assist with Project management, facilitation and analysis of data.
    • Suggest changes in policy and guidelines.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

    Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

    • Must reside in Johannesburg
    • Must be between 18 and 35 years
    • Must have completed Matric (NSC certificate)
    • Must have completed one of the following qualifications: National Diploma in Built Environment (NQF 6) / Bachelor’s Degree in Built Environment Discipline (NQF 7) / Project Management Degree
    • Must be computer literate and be able to work in MS Office
    • Must be fluent in English (reading and writing)
    • Must be able to work long hours when requested
    • Must be able to work well independently
    • Must be able to work under pressure
    • Must have strong communication skills
    • Must have strong presentation skills
    • Must be able to manage conflict
    • Must be able to handle confidential information and maintain privacy

    Novus Print: Montague Gardens is offering an Electrical Engineering internship in their Technical and Engineering department. The ideal candidate must be studying towards a qualification that requires work experience in the Electrical field. The successful candidate will report to the Utility Maintenance Manager and work primarily with the Electrical Team.

    Key Performance Areas of the Programme:

    • According to SABS regulations, providing assistance in executing projects lead by electrical/electronic installations and management
    • Checking maintenance and performing assessments on electrical requirements for jobs that are allocated to you
    • Perform and see to electrical maintenance tasks, breakdowns, and equipment
    • Reporting unsafe practices and following safety procedures and safe use of equipment
    • Providing assistance in planned maintenance schedules by performing plant inspections regularly
    • Perform safety inspection on equipment on a monthly basis
    • Assisting mechanical and production departments with technical support
    • Providing assistance with the regular checks of PLC, DC, and AC drives for any faults
    • Performing administration tasks

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

    • Education requirement: must be studying towards or have completed a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent trade relating to an electrical trade)
    • Must be a Graduate or 3rd year student with limited work experience in the FMCG/ Maintenance fields
    • Must have previous experience within the maintenance or electrical environment, specialising in service training (advantageous)
    • Must have knowledge of electrical regulations; operational health and safety standards and municipal by-laws
    • Must have previous experience in solving problems on hydraulic and pneumatic equipment (advantageous)
    • Must be able to work well in a team and on your own
    • Must be self-motivated
    • Must be analytical
    • Must have a keen interest and ability to handle troubleshooting and analysing processes
    • Must be an excellent problem solver with high attention to detail
    • Must be able to work in a high-pressured environment
    • Must be able to stick to time constraints
    • Must be able to understand and read technical electrical and electronic systemic drawings
