DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Locations: Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Kroonstad, and Klerksdorp
Duration: 18 months
Start Date: 1 July 2021

Astron is offering an internship opportunity whereby the candidate will play an important role in the contribution of the organisation’s growth by being exposed to business activities and high-level projects.

Astron offers a number of development and learning programmes in their company. The first being a Graduate Programme which was established in 2012 with over 90% of graduates finding related jobs once they had completed this programme. The second is the In-Service Trainee programme which had been ongoing for over 15-years. This programme started in 2014 and was established with Astron’s partnership with Universities of Technology, such as Cape Peninsula University of Technology. The third one is the Apprenticeship programme which was established in 2018 with the aim of developing qualified Artisans in specific trades for the industry- this programme was made in partnership with Northlink College. The fourth programme Astron has is its Learnership Programmes which are also their Seta programmes. This focus for this programme is on the use of skills in artisan related trades, administrative skills, and non-artisan technical skills (candidates who only have a matric are taught non-artisan technical skills and technical skills.) The very last programme is Scholar Bursaries which is offered to university students who are studying various disciplines.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

• • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Must be in possession of a South African, bar-coded, Identity Document
  • Must be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Must NOT be partaking in another programme (learnership/ graduate) or employed

  • Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry
  • Bachelor of Technology in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering; Information Technology; Occupational Health & Safety; Logistics Management, Operations, and Transport Management; Human Resources Management or Office Management
  • Bachelor of Commerce in Information Technology; Information Technology (Data Analytics); Supply Chain and Operations Management; Logistics Management, Operations and Transport Management; Economics, Finance, Marketing; Accounting; Management Accounting / Financial Accounting; Human Resources Management or Office Management
  • Honors in: Accounting
