    • The closing date for learners who qualify for the supplementary examinations is February 2020. The results for supplementary exams will be released on March 2020.     Supplementary Exams

    Department of Basic Education South Africa and Independent Examinations Board (IEB) both organizations allow Supplementary Exams for Matric students. The Department of Basic Education (DBE) conducted National Senior Certificate (NSC) Supplementary exams just after publishing DBE NSC Result 2020 and IEB will conduct Supplementary exams just after the IEB Matric Result 2020.

    The National Senior Certificate (NSC) replaced the Senior Certificate and commenced in 2008. Held on annually commencing in October, with supplementary examinations in February of the following year

    Supplementary Exams in South Africa:

    • If a candidate has not met the minimum promotion and certification requirements but requires a maximum of two subjects to obtain the National Senior Certificate, he or she may Register for the supplementary examination 2020.
    • If a candidate is medically unfit and, as a result, is absent from one or more external examinations, he or she may register for the supplementary examination.
    • A candidate that does not satisfy the minimum higher education faculty requirements or the requirements for the specific occupation in the end-of-year examination, may be allowed in terms of the following to register for the supplementary examination.
    • If there is a death in the immediate family of a candidate, or other special reasons for the candidate’s absence, he or she may register for the supplementary examination.
    • A candidate who did not write or complete the end-of-year examination with a valid reason has the opportunity to write the supplementary examination.
    • Candidates who have passed and wish to improve their symbols may enter subsequent IEB National Senior Certificate Examinations, which are written annually in October/November.
    • Entry forms are available from the Assessment Controller from January each year, and together with the prescribed entry fee, must reach the Assessment Controller on or before 31 March of the year in question.

    • Currently, EWN and News24’s matric results sites publicly list the distinctions every pupil achieved, while eNCA’s portal requires that you enter both your surname and exam number to view your results.
    • You can get your results on News24’s Matric Results website: eNCAEWN, or News24. Register now to receive an SMS the moment the results are released. To find your results online, you can visit the portals for registration is required. The results will also publish in all major national newspapers.

    IEB Certificates

    • National Senior Certificates will be issued by Umalusi by June/July 2020 and will be distributed by
      the IEB as requested by schools. Certificates and statements of results are issued by Umalusi and are distributed by the IEB as arranged with schools.

    IEB Re-marks/Re-checks

    • The closing date for re-marks and re-checks is Tuesday, January 2020. Please refer to your statement of results for further information. The date of release of results for re-marks/re-checks is February 2020.

    The 2016 Independent Examinations Board (IEB) pass rate is 98.67%, comparable to last year’s pass rate of 98.30%. All IEB candidates that passed achieved a pass that is good enough to enter the tertiary study at one of the three levels.

    • 87.61% of the cohort achieved entry to degree study, compared to 85.26% in 2015.
    • 9.83% qualified for entry to diploma study, compared to 11.66% in 2015.
    • 1.23% achieved entry for study at the Higher Certificate level, compared to 1.37% in 2015.

    PLE Results Uganda

    • In Uganda, pupils may start their education between the ages of five and ten at the nearest primary school (the official government recognized the age of entry is six years). In Uganda, there are seven primary school years, from primary one (P1) to primary seven (P7) and the legal age for school entry is six (Moyi 3).
    • Only some of the primary school graduates go on to take any form of secondary education. At the end of P7, pupils sit their first major national exams – the primary leaving examination (PLE). This is contingent upon them passing their PLE.

    Subjects of PLE:

    • At this current time, PLE has four subjects – 1. English language, 2. Mathematics, 3. Science and 4. Social studies.

    PLE Grading System Uganda:

    • The best possible mark pupils can achieve is a total of four (which means one point – a distinction – in each subject), while the worst is a total of 36 (nine points for each subject, which means a fail).
    • Students who score between 4 to 12 points means they pass the PLE with a first grade, or division one.
    • Students who score between 13 to 23 means they pass the PLE with second grade (division two).
    • In similar way students who score between 24 to 29 means, they pass PLE exam the third grade.
    • In similar way students who score between 30 to 34 means, they pass PLE exam with a fourth grade.

    PLE Results Uganda:

    • Honorable Minister of Education and Sports jointly with the Uganda National Examinations Board will presents to you the PLE Results for the year of Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) Examination for release to the public, in accordance with Section 4(2) of the UNEB Act, Cap 137, Laws of the Republic of Uganda. Once its released UNEB will award certificates to successful candidates in PLE examinations.

    PLE Results Summary

    • According to Uganda’s education and sports minister, First Lady Janet Museveni, 2016 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), which indicated improved general performance.
    • In 2016 PLE Results the total number of Fail students has been decreased by 9.2%, where the boys’ failure rate was 5.3% and girls rate was 7.7%. She also said that more than 50% of the pupils who completed their primary education last year were female. There was marked improved performance, especially in English, with girls performing better than boys.
    • A total of 1,886 candidates’ results withheld Despite the improved performance this became an increased number of results withheld compare with the last year 2015 where 909 candidates were withheld.

    Form Two Results Grades:-

    The quantification for grade ranges at FTNA results shall be as follows:-

    • (a) 75 – 100 = A – indicating excellent
    • (b) 60 – 74 = B+ – indicating very good
    • (c) 50 – 59 = B – indicating food
    • (d) 40 – 49 = C – indicating average
    • (e) 30 – 39 = D – indicating satisfactory
    • (f) 20 – 29 = E – indicating unsatisfactory
    • (g) 0 – 19 = F – indicating fail

    The weight for each grade shall be A= 5, B+ = 4, B=3, C = 2, D = 1, E = 0.5 and F = 0

    • Grades A, B+ , B and C shall be regarded as credit while D shall be regarded as the lowest pass.
    • Grades E and F shall not be considered in calculating GPA .

    Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE)

    • The Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE) Examination is written by learners who are completing their final grade at primary school. This examination is also used by the Ministry of Education to select learners to all public secondary schools.

    Junior Certificate of Education (JCE)

    • Step One: Open your Laptop or Mobile Internet Browser.
    • Step Two: In the address bar type “www.maneb.edu.mw”
    • Step Three: Just below of MANABE logo click on “Examination Results”
    • Step Four: A new window will open click on “Malawi National Examinations Board”
