    The South African Muslim Network (SAMNET), established in 2009, representing the interests of the Muslim community across South Africa. SAMNET aims to establish a flourishing integrated empowered society through selfless service as reflected in the principles of Ubuntu, Ukhuwah and Ujima.

    The SAMNET BURSARY FUND was formed after receiving many requests from the community to assist students with financial difficulties who were unable to fund their studies in the fields of Media Studies, Journalism, Political Science and other related fields.

    ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

    The SAMNET Bursary was initiated after an influx of requests from community members, to financially assist students in financial need. Thus, SAMNET will be awarding bursaries for studies within the following fields:

    • Communications
    • Journalism
    • Media studies
    • Political Science
    • and other related fields

     

    MORE ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – COVERAGE VALUE & SELECTION

    The bursary will provide cover for the cost of tuition fees only – all other study-related expenses must be covered by the student, a study loan or another bursary.

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

    • Must be a South African citizen
    • Must have completed Matric
    • Must be studying OR intend on studying within one of the aforementioned fields of study
    • Must be studying OR intend on studying at a recognised tertiary institute in South Africa
    • Must be in financial need and are unable to pay for your studies

    iX Engineers is a fairly new organisation, established in 2016 after acquiring WorleyParsons RSA’s Public Infrastructure Business Unit, as well as the Black Jills Engineers (BJE) consulting infrastructure business. However, the companies key staff members have over 35 years of experience within the infrastructure sector.

    The consulting engineering company is mostly black owned, operates as a private company and focuses on the public and private infrastructure sector. iX Engineers’ services include the following sectors: Transport; Water; Buildings & Services; Urban Infrastructure; Infrastructure Management; Environmental & SHERQ.

    iX is currently a BBBEE level 1 contributor, whose values include: Excellence, Innovation, Leadership, Responsibility, Integrity, Capability and Reliability.​

    ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

    The iX Engineers bursary programme is aimed at assisting with the skill development of students who are interested in studying and pursuing a career in Consulting Engineering. Bursaries will be awarded to those studying towards a BEng/ BSc Engineering degree at a recognised University.

    Bursaries will cover various fields of Engineering (including but NOT limited to):

    • Electrical Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Information Technology

    Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview before final selection is made.

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

    • South African citizen
    • Completed Matric
    • Registered to study at a recognised University in South Africa
    • Studying full time within one of the aforementioned fields of study

    The Limpopo Department of Health are a department of the South African government, which is committed to providing affordable, accessible, sustainable and comprehensive quality health care to its residents.

    The department have hospitals and clinics for their residents, which are located across their 5 districts, including Capricorn; Mopani; Sekhukhune; Waterberg and Vhembe.

    ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED, COVERAGE VALUE & SERVICE CONTRACT

    The Limpopo Department of Health will be awarding bursaries each year, to deserving and financially needing students, within the Medical/ Health Science field.

    The bursary will cover the following expenses: registration fees, tuition, prescribed textbook allowance, accommodation and meals.

    Once students have graduated, they will be required to enter into a Contractual Agreement to work for the Limpopo Department.

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) was formed in 1912, when it was initially known as the Department of Irrigation. As one of the South African government’s departments, the DWS is responsible for the water resources of the country, particularly for formulating and implementing policies within the sector.

    The DWS aim to ensure that South African have access to clean water and sanitation services, as well as water resources management for ensuring sustainable economic and social development in the country.

    The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) have established a Learning Academy, whose aim it is to help students complete their tertiary students within the water and sanitation field, which is a scarce skills sector in the country.

    Bursaries are awarded each year and renewed based on satisfactory academic performance. The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: registration fees, tuition fees, allowance for prescribed textbooks, accommodation in residence, meals and an annual personal allowance.

    On completion of their studies, bursary recipients will be required to join the Water Learning Academy for up to 3 years.

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DWS BURSARY

    The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: tuition fees, residence at campus or close to campus, a laptop, allowance for meals, transport and other resources.

    Students are also given the opportunity to gain knowledge and working experience through vacation work. On completion of their studies, students are required to complete a work-back obligation – the period of employment will be equal to the duration of funding received.
