    Each year Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr award bursaries to deserving students (who can prove strong academic performance and financial merit) within the Law faculty. For the 2022 academic year, bursaries will be awarded for full time studies towards an LLB (Undergraduate or Postgraduate) qualification.

    During the course of their studies, bursary recipients will be required to:

    • Attend a vacation programmes for law students, if invited
    • Submit all academic results and progress reports, if required
    • Agree to a right of first refusal regarding the Practical Vocational Training

    MORE ABOUT THE SANRAL BURSARY PROGRAMME – COVERAGE VALUE & SELECTION

    SANRAL will be awarding full and partial bursaries. The full bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: registration fees, tuition fees, study equipment, accommodation, food and travel expenses. The partial bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: registration fees, tuition fees and accommodation.

    The value of the bursary awarded will depend on the Means Test – all applications will undergo a Means Test, which is a calculation used to determine the amount of financial assistance SANRAL will provide. The applicants family may need to contribute to any outstanding fees, depending on the results of the Means Test.

    Bursary candidates will have the opportunity to apply for on-the-job training.

    Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine (Pty) Ltd (SBPM) (Union Mine), previously known as RPM Union Section, is a Platinum Producing Mine located in Swartklip, Limpopo, South Africa. The Mine has been in production for over 40 years and was acquired from Anglo American Platinum by Siyanda Resources and the Bakgatla-Ba-Kgafela Joint Venture

    Apart from Platinum, SBPM also produce Palladium, Rhodium, Gold and Chrome as by-products.

    SBPM will be awarding bursaries within the following fields of study:

    Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

    • South African citizen
    • Female
    • Reside within a rural community
    • Unemployed
    • Currently in Matric or completed Matric
    • Studying or intend on studying within one of the aforementioned fields of study (undergraduate studies only)
    • Studying or intend on studying at a public University/ University of Technology/ TVET College
    • Strong academic record
    • Proven financial need, with a household income of not more than R600 000 per year

     

    HOW TO APPLY FOR THE BURSARY

    Download and complete the MQA Bursary Application Form (NEW applications) (.pdf)
    Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):

    • ID document (certified copy)
    • Grade 11 final report, if currently in Matric (certified copy)
    • Matric certificate, if completed Matric (certified copy)
    • Full tertiary academic record, if currently at tertiary level (on official letterhead)
    • Parents/ guardians proof of household income (latest payslips if employed/ affidavit if unemployed/ proof of SASSA payment if applicable)

    The Mpumalanga Attorneys Council is a substructure of the Law Society of the Northern Province. The Council’s main purpose is to represent practicing attorneys within the Mpumalanga province and to ensure that the public and community are served by these attorneys. The Council represents all genders and races and currently consists of 12 Mpumalanga attorneys who have been elected by their colleagues.

    The Council must also ensure that the public and local Mpumalanga communities are being efficiently served by their attorneys. The Mpumalanga Attorneys Council is an information source for the public with regards to attorneys, their services and activities (including information on the process of lodging a complaint against an attorney; what clients can expect of their attorney; and legal background on various topics)

    ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

    The Mpumalanga Attorneys Bursary Trust was founded in 2005, with the intention of funding students who reside in the Mpumalanga province to study a Law qualification.
