    The Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA), a sector of the South African government, is responsible for supporting and contributing to developing technical capacity towards sustained accelerated municipal infrastructure and service delivery.

    The MISA’s mandate includes:
    1) Providing municipalities with support in conducting effective infrastructure, in order to achieve sustainable service delivery;
    2) Providing municipalities with support and assistance, in operating and maintaining municipal infrastructures;
    3) Providing municipalities with support and assistance, in implementing infrastructure projects, per the municipal Integrated Development Plans (IDPs); and
    4) Building municipalities capacity, in order to ensure effective planning, delivery, operations and management of municipal infrastructure.

    ABOUT THE MISA BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

    Students are invited to apply for the MISA Technical Bursary Scheme, for studies within the Built Environment sector. Students who are studying or will be studying within one of the following fields in the 2021 academic year, may apply for bursary funding:

    • Civil Engineering (Degree or National Diploma)

    • Environmental Management (Degree or National Diploma)
    • Project and Construction Management / Studies (Degree or National Diploma)

    MORE ABOUT THE MISA BURSARY PROGRAMME – COVERAGE VALUE & SELECTION

    The MISA bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: registration fees, tuition fees, prescribed books, prescribed materials, meals and accommodation.

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MISA BURSARY

    Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

    • You must have completed Matric
    • You must be registered to study within one of the aforementioned fields of study, for the 2021 academic year
    • You must be registered for your 1st or 2nd year of study in 2021
    • You must be registered and accepted to study at a recognised tertiary institute in South Africa (University, University of Technology or TVET)
    • You must have a total household income of less than R120 000 per year
    • Matriculants: you must satisfy the minimum requirements for your field of study
    • Current tertiary students: you must have passed all requirements to progress to the 2nd year of study
    • Preference will be given to students from rural areas
    • Students with disabilities and youth from previously disadvantaged areas are encouraged to apply

    ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED & COVERAGE VALUE

    Armscor are inviting students from previously disadvantaged background, who are interested in pursuing a career in the defence industry, to apply for their bursary programme. Bursaries for studies within the Engineering and Science sector, particularly the following fields:

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

    • South African citizen
    • Strong academic record
    • Interested in working within the defence industry
    • Achieved a minimum of levels 5, 6, and 7 in Mathematics, Physical Science and English in Matric
    • Studying or intend on studying full time within one of the aforementioned fields of study
    • Studying or intend on studying at a recognised tertiary institute within South Africa
    • From a previously disadvantaged background

    Boston City Campus was established in 1991 and currently has over 100 courses in Higher Certificate, Diploma, Degree, and Postgraduate Occupational courses and Short learning programmes. The institution continues to add many courses that offer students more study choices. They offer qualifications in a number of fields, namely: Management, Marketing, Accounting, Social Science, Human Resources, Law, Health, Sports, Information and Communications Technologies, Public Relations, Communications, Advertising, Business Administration, Services, Hospitality, Logistics, and Supply Chain, Tourism, Events, Project Management, Digital Music, and Entrepreneurship.

    ABOUT THE BOSTON CITY CAMPUS BURSARY PROGRAMME

    Boston City Campus Bursary Programme was formed in 1991, when the institute opened, with the aim of producing graduates and seeing as many learners as possible through into the workplace. The programme started in Finance, aiming to increase the number of black CA’s in the country.

    The bursary is awarded for studies at any Boston Media House or Boston City Campus, on an annual basis to students who have experienced sudden financial difficulties and are therefore unable to graduate. Candidates will be able to select their own field of study and career path.
    Boston has a committee that evaluates every request for a bursary and then submits it to the branch managers via their SAM system. The committee considers all submissions with the aim of assisting as many applicants as possible for the campus whilst considering the financial responsibilities that the learner will need to cover.

    Please note: Owing to the many expenses, bursary recipients will receive textbooks and all books on behalf of the programme provider. However, candidates will NOT be assisted with external examination fees.

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE BOSTON CITY CAMPUS BURSARY

    • You must have completed Matric
    • You must be studying or intend on studying at a Boston City Campus or Boston Media House across South Africa (in any field)
    • Preference will be given to students who have experienced sudden financial difficulties and are unable to graduate without financial assistance
