    The Chinese Government are awarding scholarship opportunities for postgraduate or Chinese language study South African students to study in China

    Scholarships will be awarded to students in the following qualification levels: Bachelors degree, Masters degree, PhD, Advanced Studies and Chinese language.
    PhD students: all fields of study
    Other students: preference will be given to postgraduate students and those studying in the following fields:

    • Engineering Maritime Studies
    • Environment and Climate change
    • Biotechnology

    ELIGIBILITY

    ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED & COVERAGE VALUE

    DENOSA will be awarding bursaries for the following courses:

    • Bridging courses and short courses
    • Community nursing science
    • Community health nursing, psychiatric nursing and geriatric nursing
    • Postgraduate studies (at a University or Technikon)
    • Clinical Master’s degree programme

    The bursary award will only cover a small portion of tertiary expenses, therefore students are required to have funding for the shortfall.

    Bursary recipients will be required to reapply for funding each year, and funding will be granted based on academic performance.

    Applicants will receive feedback on whether their application was successful by April 2019.

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    • South African citizen
    • A fully paid-up member of DENOSA for at least the past 2 years
    • A fully paid-up member of DENOSA for the upcoming academic year (in which the bursary will be awarded
    • Remain a fully paid-up member of DENOSA for the entire duration of the bursary award
    • Registered midwife/ nurse
    • Completed approved post-basic work
    • Registered and accepted to study at a recognised University/ Technikon/ College in South Africa
    • Post-basic undergraduate courses (at Technikon/ University): completed a minimum of half of the courses
    • Post-basic diploma courses: completed at least half of the courses (for course of more than 1 year)
    • Short courses: listed with the South African Nursing Council OR can motivate how this course will improve their nursing career (if not listed with the SANC)
    • Bridging courses: completed the first year of study

    ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED, COVERAGE VALUE & SELECTION

    The Department of Cooperative Governance (DCoG); through the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC), will be awarding bursaries for studies within the fields of Disaster (Risk) Management or related fields of study.

    The bursary award will cover the following expenses: registration fees, tuition fees, book allowance (to the maximum value of R5 500) and a research allowance (to the maximum value of R11 000).

    Black Mountain Mining (BMM), owned by Exxaro Resources and Vedanta-Zinc International (VZI), is located in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. The mine has been operating since 1980, but was acquired by Vedanta Resources from Anglo American in 2010.
