    Foskor was founded in 1951 by the Industrial Development Corporation. The company was founded with the aim of producing phosphates for the agricultural sector in South Africa​. Today, Foskor is the countries sole producer of phosphoric acid, phosphate ore and granular fertiliser.

    Phosphate rock mining, phosphate-based fertilisers production and phosphoric acid production are the Group’s primary activities. Mining is done in Phalaborwa, Limpopo and processing takes place at the Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal facility.

    ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

    The Foskor bursary scheme was initiated to help talented and deserving Engineering students to further their studies. The amount of bursaries awarded each year depends on the operational needs of Foskor.

    MORE ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – COVERAGE VALUE & SERVICE CONTRACT

    The bursary will cover the following study expenses: registration fees, tuition fees and prescribed materials.

    Bursary recipients will be required to work for Foskor during university holidays, they will also be required to work back the bursary upon graduation.

    FEDISA (Pty) Ltd is a private higher education institution, registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training in South Africa.     The FEDISA Fashion School are inviting students to apply for their FUTURE VISION Bursary for the 2022 academic year. There will be 2 undergraduate bursaries awarded (to the value of R50 000 each), for undergraduate studies at the FEDISA Fashion Schools in Cape Town or Sandton.

    Students who are interested in pursuing a career in the exciting world of fashion, should apply for the FEDISA bursary, which covers these 2 qualifications:

    1) Diploma in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing and Media – an NQF6, worth 360 credit, for 3 years of full time studies. The programme contains 4 major non-elective courses (Fashion Buying & Sourcing, Fashion Theory, Visual Merchandising, Marketing & Media and Fashion Retail Management).

    2) Bachelor of Arts in Fashion – an NQF7, worth 360 credit, for 3 years of full time studies. The programme contains 4 major courses (Clothing Technology, Lifestyle Studies, Visual Studies, Business Studies), each with sub-components. It includes a 3-week cycle of practical components and weekly rotated theoretical components.

    The bursary will provide cover for part of tuition fees only – all other expenses will be for students own account (including registration fees, books, kits, resources levies, consumables, transport, accommodation and living expenses).

    FUTURE VISION Bursary selection:

    • Judges will select 2 winners from the shortlisted finalists – 1 students for studies in Cape Town and 1 for Johannesburg.
    • Judges decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
    • Winners of the bursary will be notified and annouced on 30 September 2021 via telephone, email and social media.
    • If the bursary prize is not claimed by the winner within 7 working days of the announcement, a runner up will be selected to receive the bursary.
    • Prizes are NOT transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other item.
    • Winners entries will be exhibited on FEDISA Fashion School campuses and on social media.

    • You may only submit your own original work.
    • You may use materials, artefacts, accessories and garments to style your own FEDISA “Future Vision” Model for the runway.
    • You may recycle, upcycle, innovate and individualize to bring your own style to the runway.
    • You should style your creation from head to toe – from make-up, hair and hat at the top, to shoes at the bottom.
    • Your total look should not cost more than R500 (you will be required to submit proof of expenses).
    • You may use any technique to create your garments, shoes and accessories, and they should be carefully packaged.

    The Gallagher Foundation was founded in 2001 by Ellen and Jerry Gallagher to provide scholarships to university students in 3 countries, namely South Africa; Mexico and Turkey.     ABOUT THE COMPANY – CONVERSE

    We are pleased to inform you about Converse South Africa #KickTheDebt Student Bursary Award 2025-2026/read full details.

    Converse (previously Converse Rubber Shoe Company) was founded in 1908, as specialists in the boot and winter rubber-soled shoe market, a few years later they expanded into the athletic footwear sector. Today, Converse is an American shoe company that designs, distributes, and licenses a range of footwear, sneakers, skating shoes, accessories and apparel. The company’s products include Cons, Converse, Chuck Taylor All-Star, One Star, Jack Purcell and Star Chevron trademarks. Since 2003, Converse has been a subsidiary of Nike, Inc.

    ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN

    Converse will be awarding R1 million to write off student debt (at secondary or tertiary level) with their #KickTheDebt campaign.
    The campaign, organised by Skye Distribution (Skye), was inspired by the FeesMustFall movement which started in 2015.

    R1 million will be awarded to a number of students who are in financial need and have outstanding student debt which needs to be paid off. Students may apply to write off their own secondary or tertiary debt, or may nominate someone who needs their student debt to be written off.

    Please note the following important details about the campaign:
    1) The award of up to R1 million will be spread out over a number of students (the amount per student will be determined and will either cover a part of or all outstanding fees).
    2) Skye (the campaign organiser) will create a video showing 1 or more of the selected candidates, to share their personal background story in their campaign video. The video will be posted on Converse South Africa social media platforms, as well as other media platforms.
    3) Applicants who are under 18 years old will require parental/ guardian consent to apply
    4) Anyone who is affiliated with Skye, their sponsors or organizers of or a supplier to the campaign may NOT apply.
    5) The awards will be paid directly to the educational institution to which the debt is owed – awards are non-transferable, non-negotiable and non-exchangeable.
    6) Selected candidates will be contacted telephonically or via email by 30 April 2021 at the latest. If you are not contacted, then you have not been selected.
    7) If selected candidates do not respond within 3 working days, an alternative nominee will be selected.
    8) Students must provide all requested information and documentation – if they fail to do so within 1 week of requeste, the award will be forfeited
    9) Names of selected students will be shared on the Converse South Africa website on 30 April 2021.
    10) Skye will be permitted to amend or update the T&C’s of the campaign (which will be available online)

    ABOUT THE COMPANY – SKA SA/ SARAO

    The South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO) (previously known as “SKA SA”) is managed by the National Research Foundation (NRF).
    SARAO will soon be known as the creators of the biggest multi radio telescope ever constructed, which will produce science that provides greater understanding of the universe. The SARAO will be collocated in Africa and Australia, with the African one being built in South Africa and 8 other countries in Africa.

    Construction of the SARAO is planned to commence at the start of 2019, it should have a total collection area of 1 km2 and initial observations are scheduled for 2022. The project is headquartered in the United Kingdom.

    SARAO scholarship recipients who are in honours and fourth year, will be required to attend an annual workshop during mid-year university holidays.

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SANSOR BURSARY

    Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

    • You must be a South African citizen (by birth)
    • You must have completed an undergraduate degree
    • You must be registered to study towards a Postgraduate degree (Honours, Masters or Doctorate) within the seed industry, in 2022
    • You must be registered to study at a recognised tertiary institution
    • You must have a study subject that support SANSOR’s vision and mission, as well as be advantageous to the seed industry
    • You must NOT be in receipt of any other government funding (candidates must inform SANSOR of all other government funding received)
