    Learners will be responsible for these duties during the programme:

    • assisting wiht management of dead stock in the hospital
    • ensuring that security protocols are followed
    • stock-take, cycle counts and variance investigation
    • ensuring ethical and professional standards are followed
    • issuing medication to wards and theatre as required
    • assisting with pharmaceutical management within the hospital, supervised by a pharmacist
    • controlling ethical and surgical inventory
    • unboxing and sorting ethical and surgical stock, checking expiries and invoices
    • ordering stock in line with LHC protocol

    ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP

    The Kuyasa postgraduate learnership is funded by BANKSETA, aimed at unemployed graduates students who wish to gain experience in the working world.     Eskom are the only electricity producing company in South Africa, producing approximately 95% of the countries power and approximately 45% of the power in Africa. Eskom are responsible for generating, transmitting and distributing electricity to commercial, industrial, agricultural, mining and residential customers, as well as to redistributors.

    ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIPS

    Eskom currently have 2 types of Learnership Programmes for students who have passed Mathematics, Physical Science and English at Matric/ N3 or NCV Level 4.

    The learnership details are as follows:
    1) Plant Operator Learnership: an 18 Month Training Programme, which will provide students with internal training at Eskom and external training where required.
    2) Artisan Learnership: a 3 year Training Programme, which will provide students with institutionalised and on the job training and will end in the acquisition of a trade test certificate.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
    1) Plant Operator Learnership:

    • Achieved any one of the following:
      • Completed Matric and achieved a minimum of 50% for Mathematics, 50% for Physical Science and 40% for English
      • Completed an N3 and achieved a minimum of 50% for Mathematics, 50% for Engineering Science and 40% for English
      • Completed a NCV Level 4 and achieved a minimum of 50% for Mathematics, 50% for Physical Science and 40% for English
    • Computer Literate
    • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Highly conscientious
    • Self-discipline
    • Motivated and driven
    • Emotionally resilient
    • Safety conscious
    • Responsible and committed

    2) Artisan Learnership:
