    ABOUT THE COMPANY

    I Can! was founded by Ali Smeeton, mother of James Smeeton, who has Down Syndrome. The Smeetons have also established a non-profit organisation with two other families in Gauteng called EmployAbility Vulindlela, with the focus on employment support for intellectually disabled adults.

    I Can!, together with PMI, have created Disability Academies who provide a socio-economic solution to stakeholders interested disability.

    ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP

    I Can! learnerships are available to adults with physical, intellectual and learning disabilities.

    The programme runs over the course of at least 12 months and learners will receive a monthly stipend as well as a bonus on completion of the programme.

    Learnerships are currently available in the following sectors:

    • Life Skills (NQF Level 1)
    • Hygiene and Cleaning (NQF Level 1)
    • Plant Production (NQF Level 1) & Animal Plant Production (NQF Level 1)
    • Business Practice (NQF Level 1)
    • Business Administration (NQF Level 2)

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • South African citizen
    • Have a physical, intellectual or learning disability
    • Life Skills: have basic literacy
    • Hygiene and Cleaning: have an ABET Level 2 for Mathematical Literacy and Communication
    • Plant Production & Animal Plant Production: have an ABET Level 3 for Numeracy, Communication and Literacy
    • Business Practice: completed Grade 10, have an ABET Level 3 for Communication and Mathematical Literacy
    • Business Administration: completed Matric, have a NQF Level 1 for Communication and Mathematical Literacy

    *Preference may be given to applicants of colour.

    Duration: 12 months

    Medshield Medical Scheme invites the youth (18 to 35 years old) to apply for the Wealth Management Learnership Programme, located in Randburg, Gauteng. The learnership will take place over a 12 month period – starting in February 2022 and ending in January 2023.

    Candidates will receive a stipend each month and after completing the programme, they will receive a Wealth Management: NQF level 5 qualification

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

    • Must have completed Matric/ Grade 12

    DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

    Location: various locations across South Africa
    Stipend: R3 817 per month (minus R38 UIF)
    Duration:5 months (1 November 2021 to 31 March 2022)

    The Department of Basic Education is inviting unemployed youth to apply for phase 2 of the Basic Education Employment Initiative. The aim of the programme is to provide education assistant placement at public and LSEN schools across South Africa.

    The DBE are looking for 287 000 unemployed youth people, to gain employment and training opportunities in the education sector – approximately 192 000 Education Assistants and 95 000 General School Assistants will be selected.
    This programme forms part of the Presidential Employment Stimulus (PES), which aims to decrease the devastating economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Candidates will receive training on various skills that will equip them for future employment opportunities.
    Types of programmes offered:
    Candidates will be placed in schools for 5 months (starting on 1 November 2021 and ending on 31 March 2022), for the following opportunities:

    • Education Assistant – Curriculum (Matric is required)
    • Education Assistant – ICT/e-Cadres (Matric is required)
    • Education Assistant – Reading Champions (Matric is required)
    • General School Assistant – Child & Youth Care Worker (Matric is required)
    • General School Assistant – Handyman (No Matric is required)
    • General School Assistant – Sports and Enrichment Agent (No Matric is required)

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
