He is the founder and owner of Sechaba Printing company later changed to Sechaba Photoscan and the owner of Martial Eagle Investments.

In 2010 it was reported that most of his millions had vanished to an extent that he couldn’t afford accommodation. Since then he has become silent and most of Mzansi fans wonder where is he today.

    Biography Facts

    Full name: Mandla Mthembu
    Gender: Male
    Date of birth: 1954
Place of birth: Soweto, Gauteng Province
    Occupation: Businessman
    Financial Status: Millionaire
Companies: Martial Eagles Investments, Sechaba Photoscan
Spouses: Dolly Matshabe (div), Khanyisile Mbau (m- 2006, div- 2009)
    Children: two (Nelisiwe and Khanukani)

    Early life of Mandla Mthembu

Mandla Mthembu was born in 1954 probably at his mother’s hometown in Soweto, Gauteng Province in South Africa. He was raised in Soweto under his mother’s roof where he obtained his primary and secondary school education. There is no record of where he obtained his tertiary education which shall be added to his biography once its public.

    Business career of Mandla Mthembu

Most people wonder how Mandla Mthembu became a millionaire and lived a luxurious lifestyle with his ex-wife Khanyisile Mbau. Firstly Mandla had a long history of doing business in the media and news industry. He started as a journalist working for other media companies until he started his media businesses. His first companies were Sechaba Holdings and Sechaba Printing.

After that he became the founder and owner of printing company Sechaba Photoscan founded in 2000 and the owner of Martial Eagle Investments which had interests in investing in banking and financial services. [¹ ]

In 2004 his Sechaba Photoscan company successfully sued Transnet R57 million (rands) for defrauding them of a tender by redirecting the tender to a company which had ANC links. The Johannesburg High Court ruled in favour of Sechaba Photoscan and Bloemfontein High Court rejected Transnet’s challenge against the Joburg Court ruling leading to a successful sue against Transnet. [ ²]

Then October 2007 Mandla was reported by media that he was planning to buy 55% of Johnnic Communications shares. This meant that he was going to control 55% of Johncom and gain control of the lucrative Sunday Times, the country’s biggest weekly newspaper.

    Luxurious lifestyle with Khanyi Mbau

Mandla lived a luxurious lifestyle with Khanyi Mbau. They would show off their Lamborghinis, Potches, other luxurious cars and mansions. During that time he lived in R100 000 rented house and boasted about expensive overseas trips. This made Mandla very popular to fans of Kanyi Mbau who by the time was an actress on South African soapies.

Mandla Mthembu Networth as of 2007

In 2007 it was reported that Mandla Mthembu’s Networth was estimated to be R2.5 billion (rands) although it was unclear how they reached to these figures. He also received R57 million rands from Transnet after being defrauded of his multi million rand tender. This must’ve boasted his net worth by then, but it started to decrease for some unknown reasons.

Personal life of Mandla Mthembu, children, poverty and wives

Mandla Mthembu was once married to Dolly Matshabe and were blessed with a daughter Nelisiwe. They got divorced probably because of Mandla having an affair with Kanyi Mbau whom he later married in 2006. They also were blessed with a daughter Khanukani. When he was married to Kanyi Mbau, reports started to spread around that Mandla was broke and he couldn’t buy his daughter a text book but he denied these claims saying his ex wife was trying to tarnish his name.

“I made an arrangement with my ex-wife to buy the book before I left for the US and she agreed. I am surprised now to hear that I could not afford to buy the book and that I gave her R10000 instead of R18000 because I did not have enough money,” said Mthembu in 2007 publication. [ ³]

In 2010 worse news reports were made about him that he couldn’t afford to support himself and his two children. His financial status had deteriorated to an extent that he couldn’t afford to pay rent for his own accommodation.

He was sued 2.6 Million rands by West Bank for failing to honour their payment agreement for one of his luxurious cars. And he also owed R160 thousand rands after skipping four instalments on another Lamborghini financed by Absa. He had a warrant of arrest after failing to pay maintenance for his two children since 2009.

In the last reports, he was leaving in back room of his friend after being evicted at a motel for not paying rent and was ashamed to go to his mother’s house in Soweto in fear of being mocked by the public. [ ⁴]

(2013), Beyond Return and Wedding. (2016). She won an Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Film Best Supporting Actress in a Feature Film in the 2013 romantic thriller film, Of Good Report.

    Marriage to Prosper Mkwaiwa

In 2000 Jaxa married engineer Prosper Mkwaiwa in a lavish ceremony held at Usambara Wedding Village, near Krugersdorp, which reportedly cost R300,000. The couple later divorced after 15 years of marriage in 2015. The couple had two children together: older son Leeroy Mkwaiwa, and son Farai.

Tina, in 2016, was dating a man who is younger than her by 10 years and she didn’t want to review his age. Three years later it became public that she was dating ab actor Fuzile Mahamba, who’s eight years her junior, are happier than they’ve ever been. There is no clear evidence that Fuzile is the man who Tina was dating in 2016. But it was clear that when Tina showed Mzansi that she was dating a junior she was ready to get married to him. [ ³]

    Controversy

In 2015, Jaxa was embroiled in a legal battle with Tina Dlangwana (Mkwaiwa’s second wife) over who was the rightful spouse, just weeks after her ex-husband Prosper Mkwaiwa died. According to the Sunday Sun, Tina Mkwaiwa (Prosper’s traditional wife) is Makwaiwa’s mother and the family’s only legitimate daughter-in-law.

Tina was still legally married to Mkwaiwa in the community of property when he died on January 31, 2015. Despite the fact that they had been separated for more than a decade, she was named executrix of the estate. Mkwaiwa was a shareholder in PulaNala Mining and Energy, according to Jaxa, but the consortium did not pay Mkwaiwa’s half of the dividends.

So she went to the company to claim over R1.4-million of Mkwaiwa’s estate, allegedly as directed by Sasol and other shareholders. But she was denied those dividends because the company claimed that her late husband was fired before his death for fraud. [⁴ ]

Jaxa was allegedly assaulted by her then 19-year-old son, according to the Daily Sun in February 2015. The actress, according to the tabloid, filed two assault charges against her son after he attempted to physically harm her when she refused to give him money.
