    The Blouberg Local Municipality was formed as the result of a merger between Bochum/ My darling TLC and the Northern District Council, in the year 2000.

    The Municipality is located in the Limpopo Province, less than 100km from Polokwane, covers an area of more than 5000 sqkm and is bordered by Botswana and Zimbabwe. It is an area with the lowest income level in South Africa, has a population of over 160 000 residents and has 118 settlements.

    The Municipality, named “Blouberg” because of its mountain range, has some of the best rock climbing sites in South Africa. In fact, the Municipality is well known for its big wall natural climbing, featuring route lengths of up to 350m.

    ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME

    The Mayor’s Bursary by the Blouberg Municipality is intended for students who have completed Matric, are from a disadvantaged background and in need of funding for their tertiary studies.

    Bursaries are awarded for 1 academic year at a time, and are renewable based on good academic performance.

    The Blouberg Municipality bursary will cover the cost of the following expenses: registration and tuition fees, examination fees, prescribed equipment, prescribed books, prescribed study related materials, institutional residence and meals.

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

    • South African citizen
    • Completed Matric
    • From a disadvantaged/ indigent family
    • Have a maximum monthly household income of R1,500

    The Isaac and Jessie Kaplan Centre for Jewish Studies and Research was a gift to the University of Cape Town (UCT), named in the honour of Robert and Mendel Kaplan’s parents. The Kaplan Centre was founded in 1980 and is currently situated in the Rachel Bloch House. The centre is one of a kind in South Africa and has its own governing body.

    The aim of the centre is to promote Jewish studies and research at UCT, especially focused on the Jewish community within the country.

    ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMMES

    The Kaplan Centre Bursaries are intended for undergraduate and postgraduate students, to take up studies and research.

    Undergraduate studies:
    Bursaries will be awarded to students whose studies focus on Jewish, Hebrew Language and Literature.
    Bursary grants must be used to cover the cost of tuition fees at UCT.
    Grants can be renewed each year.

    Postgraduate studies:
    Bursaries will also be awarded to postgraduate/ research students focused on Jewish studies.
    Bursary grants may be used towards the following expenses: tuition fees at UCT/ travel costs/ running costs/ other research related expenses at UCT.
    Students should also apply for other means of funding and should provide details on the application form.
    Candidates will be interviewed by the UCT Kaplan Centre Academic Subcommittee of the Management Committee.

    The Financial Services Board (FSB) is responsible for overseeing the Non-Banking Financial Services Industry in South Africa for the interest of the public.

    ABOUT THE BURSARY

    The FSB bursary is for students who are studying towards an Actuarial Science qualification at the University of Pretoria or the University of Witwatersrand – first year students and matriculants should apply.

    The bursary is aimed at previously disadvantaged students who would otherwise not be able to study, due to lack of funding.

    The FSB bursary will cover the following study expenses: registration fees, tuition fees, prescribed books, study materials, stationery, meals, accommodation, internet usage, laptop and monthly living expenses.

    Students will also receive experiential learning training for a minimum of 4 weeks per annum, to take place during university holidays.
    Recipients are guaranteed employment once they complete their qualifications. Students must also enter into a contract and work back the funding receive from FSB.

    The bursary will provide funding for 2 years of full-time study, to the value of R130 000 per year. Students will also have the opportunity to acquire advanced skills during the postgraduate training, within specialist fields (including chemical analysis, process modelling, material flow analysis, material and energy balances, wood science and separation techniques).

    ABOUT THE AGRISETA BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED & COVERAGE VALUE

    AgriSETA are inviting students to apply for bursary funding for the 2022 academic year, for studies towards Agricultural related qualifications (Undergraduate or Postgraduate). Bursaries are awarded each year, to full-time or part-time students, who require funding for their tuition fees in order to complete their qualification.

    The bursary will be to a maximum value of R39 750 per annum for undergraduate students and R63 600 for postgraduate students, and should be used to pay for tuition fees and textbooks.

    Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications by no later than 15 December 2021.

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE AGRISETA BURSARY

    ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED & COVERAGE VALUE

    Bursaries will be awarded to those studying (or intend on studying) towards a qualification within the Building Environment industry (ND or BTECH):

    • Construction Management
    • Civil Engineering
    • Quantity Surveying

    The bursary award will cover the following expenses: registration fees, tuition fees and prescribed textbooks.

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

    • South African citizen
    • Currently in Matric OR have completed Matric
    • Studying (or intend on studying) full-time towards a qualification in one of the aforementioned fields of study
    • Studying or accepted to study at an accredited tertiary institution in South African (preferably in KwaZulu-Natal)
    • Willing to work within the company during holidays and after completion of studies

    *Preference will be given to the following students: underprivileged, those from disadvantaged backgrounds, those with disabilities, within the 16 to 25 year age group.

    HOW TO APPLY FOR THE BURSARY

    Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):

    • ID document or birth certificate (certified copy)
    • Matric certificate (certified copy)
    • Mid year results if currently in Matric (certified copy)
    • Acceptance letter to study at a recognised tertiary institution
    • Latest results if currently studying at tertiary level (on tertiary letterhead)
    • Proof of any formal qualifications (certified copy)
    • Studying (or intend on studying) full-time towards a Construction Management qualification
    • Parents/ guardians proof of income (latest payslips if employed, death certificate if deceased – certified copy, social worker letter if orphaned)
    • Proof of disability if disabled (from a registered hospital or doctor)
    • Proof of residential address

    Digby Wells and Associates (Pty) Ltd was formed by 3 partners, all of whom were from the Environmental Management Department of Rand Mines. The company was formed in 1995 and named after the late Mr Digby Wells, who was a role player in the South African environmental management field.

    ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

    The Digby Wells bursary is aimed at Undergraduate (first, second and third year) and Postgraduate students.

    The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: tuition fees, book allowance and a laptop. Students who are to be inducted into the company, will receive paid vacation work, on-site exposure, practical training and mentorship.

    Students must be willing to sign an employment contract with Digby Wells before commencing their studies.
