    ABOUT THE COMPANY – TCTA

    Trans-Caledon Tunnel Authority (OR “TCTA” for short), situated in Centurion, is a state-owned entity for bulk water supply development. The company’s goal is to be a market leader for the supply of sustainable water and to facilitate water security (by the means of planning, financing and implementing the process of raw water infrastructure) in their region.

    The company was first established in order to become a purpose vehicle to carry out the Lesotho Highlands Water Project. Services carried out by the company include: Project Design, Project Management, Treasury Management, Knowledge Management, Debt Management, Bulk raw water infrastructure implementation, Structuring and raising Project Finance.

    Some of TCTA’s flagship projects include: the Lesotho Highlands Water Project; the Metsi Bophelo Borehole Project; the Vaal River Eastern Subsystem; the Olifants River Water Resources Development Project; Berg Water Project in Franschhoek; the Komati Water Scheme Augmentation Project; the Mooi-Mgeni Transfer Scheme; the Mokolo Dam and the Acid Mine Drainage.

    ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

    TCTA will be awarding 7 bursaries to students from a previously disadvantaged background who have shown academic excellence and the desire to succeed in their chosen field.
    4 bursaries will be awarded for degree studies within the following fields:

    • Chemical Engineering (BSc or BEng)
    • Civil Engineering (BSc or BEng)
    • Electrical Engineering (Controls & Instrumentation) (BSc or BEng)
    • Mechanical Engineering (BSc or BEng)

    2 bursaries will be awarded for degree studies within the following fields:

    • Economics (B Com)
    • Commercial (B Com)
    • Financial Management (B Com)
    • Treasury & Investment (B Com)
    • *and related numerate Degree programmes

    1 bursary will be awarded for degree studies within the following fields:

    • Environmental Law (BSc)
    • Environmental Management (BSc)
    • Environmental Science (BSc)

    MORE ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – COVERAGE VALUE & SELECTION PROCESS

    The bursary will provide coverage for the following expenses: registration fees, tuition fees, prescribed books, accommodation, meals and a monthly allowance for living expenses.

    Once your application has been received, it will be screened to ensure that you meet the criteria and that all information required is present.
    Shortlisted candidates will then be contacted by TCTA and invited to an interview.
    If you have not received any feedback within 30 days of the application deadline, you can regard your application as unsuccessful.

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

    • South African citizen
    • In possession of a valid South African ID Document
    • Under the age of 35 years old
    • Currently unemployed
    • Completed Matric
    • In possession of a National Senior Certificate (with university entrance pass)
    • Must have achieved a minimum of 60% for all subjects in Matric
    • Studying or have been accepted to study full time within one of the aforementioned fields of study
    • Studying or have been accepted to study at a recognised tertiary institution within South Africa
    • Current University students must have achieved a minimum of 65% for all main subjects
    • Your parents income must not be more than R350 000 per year (before tax)
    • Your parents or close relatives must NOT be employed by the TCTA (as this is a conflict of interest)
    • NOT have any current bursary or sponsorship awards
    • Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply

    Once students have graduated, there is NO obligation to work for Arup. Students must however, remain within the country for a minimum of 3 years after graduation, in order to contribute to the country.

    ABOUT THE COMPANY – ASSMANG KHUMANI MINE

    we are pleased to inform you about  Assmang Khumani Mine Bursary South Africa 2025-2026/ read full details.

    Khumani Mine, situated in the Northern Cape province of South Africa, is a large iron mine with one of the biggest iron ore reserves in the country and globally. Khumani Iron Ore Mine is an open-cast operations, and is Assmang’s main iron ore producer, replacing the older Beeshoek Iron Ore Mine.

    The mine was previously known as the Bruce, King and Mokaning (“BKM”) Project, named after the farms where the iron ore resources are located.

    ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED & COVERAGE VALUE

    Assmang Khumani Mine are inviting students from the Northern Cape province to apply for their bursary programme. The Khumani Mine bursary intends to promote further education and skills development – the bursary will cover degree qualifications, in ANY field of study.

    The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: registration fees, tuition fees, textbooks, accommodation, meals, photocopies and a stipend (of an amount to be determined by Assmang Management). The value of the bursary is reviewed each year and adjusted where necessary.
