    The Knight Piésold Bursary will be awarded to students who intend on studying towards a Civil Engineering degree (BSc/ BEng) qualification at a University within South Africa. The bursary is aimed at providing financial assistance to disadvantaged students, who have a strong academic record but need financial assistance to pursue their tertiary studies.

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

    • South African citizen
    • Currently in Matric
    • Excellent academic record
    • Plan on studying towards a BSc/ BEng Civil Engineering degree qualification

    Safripol is a proudly independent plastics manufacturing company, established in 1972 as the result of a joint venture between 2 companies, namely Hoechst AG of Germany and Sentrachem Ltd. The company is one of the top suppliers of High-density Polyethylene and Polypropylene to the converting industry, which is then used in the manufacturing of packaging and various industrial end uses.

    Headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa, the companies manufacturing plant is based in Sasolburg, where they produce approximately 120 000 tonnes of polypropylene (PP) and 160 000 tonnes of High-density polyethylene (HDPE) per year.

    MORE ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – COVERAGE VALUE & SERVICE CONTRACT

    The bursary will be awarded to the maximum value of R25 000 per year (per student).

    On completion of their studies, students will be require to take up employment with Safripol for an amount of time equivalent to the bursary awarded.

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
