    The Foschini Group have partnered with FEDISA to offer deserving students a 3 year bursary programme.

    FEDISA is the only Western Cape based tertiary institution that offers the fully accredited and registered and BA: Fashion and the BA Honours: Fashion Degrees. Other than the BA Degree programmes, FEDISA also offers a 3-year Diploma qualification in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing and Media.

    ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED & COVERAGE VALUE

    Bursaries will be awarded to students who wish to pursue a career in the fashion industry.

    The bursary will cover the following expenses: tuition fees, presecribed textbooks, design kits, overlocker, sewing machine, clothing, accommodation, room decor allowance, macbook, required software, mobile phone with data and airtime, printing allowance, transport allowance, coaching, support.

    Students will also be given the chance to undertake vacation work during the June holidays at TFG.

    ABOUT THE CANON COLLINS RMTF SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

    MORE ABOUT THE CANON COLLINS RMTF SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME – COVERAGE VALUE & SELECTION

    The scholarship will cover a maximum of 2 years of Masters students and a maximum of 3 years for PhD students. Funding will be awarded for subsequent years based on satisfactory academic performance. The value of the scholarship will be in the range of R20 000 to R100 000, depending on student circumstances.

    Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application during October 2021 – this correspondence will be sent via email. The organisation’s slogan is “dedicated to empowering authors” and their main aim is to uplift South African academic and non-fiction authors by drawing attention to their works and ensuring protection of their rights across the book value chain.

    ABOUT THE BURSARY GRANT SCHEME

    The ANFASA Grant Scheme for Authors (AGSA) is a grant for student authors who are currently researching or writing pieces. The grant value is approximately R30,000 and must be used for research and writing purposes – including for the author to travel for research purposes/ or take leave from employment to work on their manuscript/ equipment to conduct interviews.

    Successful candidates will be announced within December – should you not receive any feedback by then, please regard your application as unsuccessful.

    • Author currently working on a non-fiction piece (general or scholarly – excluding novels, poetry and drama)
