Joyous Celebration Auditions Eligibility and entry 2025-2026

Contestants and Voters (“Participants”) may only participate in the Competition if they are eligible.

You are only eligible to participate in the Competition as a Contestant and Voter if –

you are not: (a) an employee or director of the Promoter; (b) the Promoter’s prize sponsors; or (c) advertising agencies, PR companies, sponsors, partners, immediate family members, agents, consultants or household members of (a) or (b).

you are a South African permanent resident or citizen with a valid 13-digit South African identity document.

you are 18 years of age or above or if you are under the age of 18 (a minor) but are duly represented by a parent or legal guardian, and the parent or legal guardian hereby represents and warrants that he/she has the right, power and authority to consent to these T&Cs on your behalf (the minor) and him/herself.

Contestants must comply with the rules (see ‘Requirements for your unique song’ below) as set out in clause 5.

Africa’s reality TV franchise, Big Brother, has announced calls for entries for a new special season to hold 2025-2026 .

John Ugbe, Chief Executive Officer, Multichoice Nigeria, in a statement on Thursday said that the season aptly called ‘Big Brother Titans’ would be a mix of Big Brother Naija and Big Brother Mzansi.

Ugbe said that this means auditions were open to Nigerians and South Africans, aged 21 and above.

“Auditions for Big Brother Titans, commences from Oct. 6 to Oct. 22.

“All interested and eligible people must record a two-minute video of themselves stating why Big Brother should pick them to be a Big Brother Titan housemate.

“This video must then be uploaded to https://mnet.tv/bigbrothertitans and then contestants must fill out the online registration form,” he said.

Ugbe noted that Big Brother Titans would feature new contestants who must be Nigerian or South African citizens with valid means of identification.

Speaking about the fascinating twist of having a mash-up of BBNaija and BBMzansi, Ugbe said, “The long history of rich culture and talent shared by both countries will be brought to life through the Titan housemates in one house.

“I can only imagine the explosion of drama and intrigue that will ensue, so, imagine ‘Afrobeats’ meeting ‘Amapiano’; imagine the food and everything else that will be showcased; we think this will be quite exciting.

“We are excited about the special big brother season, and we will reveal more details at the right time sometime next year.

The show follows the same general format as the other editions of the show. The players are split between two “tribes”, are taken to a remote island and are forced to live off the land with meager supplies for an extended period of time. Frequent physical and mental challenges are used to pit the teams against each other for rewards, such as food or luxuries, or for “immunity”, forcing the other tribe to attend “Tribal Council”, where they must vote off one of their players.

Once about half of the players are remaining, those who remain are merged into a single tribe, and competitions are on an individual basis; winning immunity prevents that player from being voted out. Most players that are voted out at this stage form the “Tribal Council Jury”. Once down to two people (three in Champions and Island of Secrets), a final Tribal Council is held where the remaining players plead their case to the Jury as to why they should win the game. The jury then votes for which player should be considered the “Ultimate Survivor” and wins the grand prize of R1Million.

Entries have officially opened, and those who think they have the skills to become the sole survivor on a desolate exotic island have until Monday 20 January at midnight to enter.

Executive Producer Handrie Basson says: “If you love watching Survivor, if you have shouted at the TV in frustration and admiration and if you have said ‘I can do this!’ or if you have thought ‘I will never do that!’… then it’s time to get off the couch and onto the island!”

Nico Panagio will return as host of Survivor SA season eight which will air on M-Net (DStv 101) in the second half of 2020.

To be eligible to enter, you have to be 18 years or older by 20 January 2020. You also have to be a South African citizen or have a permanent residence status and need to make sure that your passport is valid until August 2020.

To enter, you have to complete the online entry form here. Once you have logged on to, you will go through a quick and easy online audition process. First, you will be asked to fill in a short application form with a few personal questions, and thereafter you have to submit a three-minute video, showcasing your game plan and why the Survivor SA team should pick you. If your online application is successful, you will be contacted by the Survivor SA team for a call-back, and who knows, you could be part of the next season’s castaways.

Auditions for Survivor South Africa: Champions will be held in the following cities around South Africa:

Johannesburg: Thursday, 1 August at the Indaba Hotel

Cape Town: Thursday, 8 August at The River Club

Durban: Thursday, 15 August at The BAT Centre.

Contestants must be older than 18, with a valid passport, the personality and the determination to remain standing in the harshest of circumstances.

The audition dates listed above are the only dates contestants may come to audition. It will be a first come, first served process, so contestants should try to arrive by 08:00 on the day of their audition.

Contestants can download their entry form from www.mnet.co.za, print it out and bring it with them on the day of their audition. Alternatively, there will be entry forms available at each venue.

Bigg Boss is an Indian reality television game show produced by Endemol Shine India through Viacom 18 and Star India. Subsequently, it was syndicated internationally and available through Voot and Disney+ Hotstar OTT platforms. It has been extended into seven languages spoken in the Indian sub-continent. It is the Indian version of the Dutch-British show Big Brother.

Overview

There have been seven versions of the show in different languages spoken in the Indian subcontinent. The first show of the franchise was Bigg Boss in Hindi which debuted in 2006 through Sony TV and from season two onwards it moved to and continues on Colors TV. In 2013, the franchise extended its presence in Kannada through Colors Kannada and Bengali through ETV Bangla, later rebranded into Colors Bangla. In 2017, it extend its presence in Tamil through Star Vijay and in Telugu through Star Maa. In 2018, it ventured into Marathi through Colors Marathi and in Malayalam through Asianet.

Though only celebrities were selected to be as housemates in the initial seasons, members of the general public have been auditioned to be on the show in the latest seasons of Hindi, Kannada and Telugu versions of the show.^[1]^[2]

Synopsis

Contestants called “housemates” live together in a specially constructed house that is isolated from the outside world. Housemates are voted out, usually on a weekly basis, until only one remains and wins the cash prize. During their stay in the house, contestants are continuously monitored by live television cameras as well as personal audio microphones.

The program relies on techniques such as a stripped back-to-basic environment, evictions, weekly tasks, competitions set by Bigg Boss, and the “confession room” where housemates converse with Bigg Boss and nominate the housemates they wish to evict from the house. The housemates with the most nominations are then announced, and viewers are given the opportunity to vote via SMS or online through social media and smartphone applications for the nominee they wish to save from eviction. The last person standing is declared the winner.

The contestants are required to indulge in housework and are assigned tasks by the omnipresent authority figure known to them as Bigg Boss. The tasks are designed to test teamwork abilities and community spirit of the housemates. The luxury budget is a weekly allowance to buy luxury food items other than the supplied essentials which depend on the outcome of assigned tasks.

History

Creation

Bigg Boss is a Hindi language adaptation of Big Brother created in Netherlands by John de Mol Jr., largely based on the Celebrity Big Brother model owned by the Endemol Shine Group. The show was named Bigg Boss and a house was constructed for the show at Lonavla for seasons one to four and six to twelve, in Karjat for season five and in Goregaon for season thirteen. Bigg Boss debuted on television in 2006 through Sony TV with Arshad Warsi as the host. The show gained popularity after Shilpa Shetty emerged as the winner in Big Brother 5 and replaced Warsi as the host in the second season of Bigg Boss. From the second season, the show’s broadcast moved to Viacom 18’s Colors TV.

To give a befitting reply to the unprecedented events of 2020, the ex-inmates play a special role in the BB House while the new contestants prove their worth under the live cameras monitoring them.

Sizwe Ntsaluba Gobodo Bursary Requirements

Individuals interested in applying must include a detailed curriculum vitae with contact particulars, reachable references, as well as any data they feel may be appropriate to their submission. It is advisable to also include certified copies of all applicable certificates and ID. Candidates must be permanent South African citizens.
