    Standard Bank Learnership

    Standard Bank Learnership is a programme that helps unemployed South African matriculants and graduates gain employment experience in the financial services industry. This learnership is a 12-month programme providing professional exposure to different roles within Standard Bank branches and offices throughout South Africa.

    Successful candidates will be selected based on specific qualifications and requirements and will sign a 12-month fixed-term employment and learnership contract. The learnership recipients will be given learner allowance of R2 500 a month for the duration of their programme. Upon successful completion of the learnership programme, candidates will receive an accredited National Certificate in Banking (NQF level 4).

    Learnership Requirements and Eligibility

    • 18 to 30 years old
    • Speaking, reading and writing English skills
    • Matric completion with passing mark in Mathematics, Maths Literacy and Accounting
    • Computer literate
    • Not permanently employed
    • Not studying at any other institution
    • Not registered on any other learnership

    As part of the application process, the applicants will be background-checked for register for employees dismissed, credit record, criminal record, reference checks with previous employers (if applicable), educational qualifications and proof of South African citizenship, residency or work permit.

    How to Apply and Application Details

    1. Register your profile on the Standard Bank Graduate site
    2. Complete the online assessment and have at least 60% mark.
    3. After passing the online assessment, the applicants will be contacted to perform competency-based tests.
    4. The final step will require a face-to-face interview.

    Applications done in any other method except for online application will be rejected.

    Requirements

    Candidates must include a detailed curriculum vitae with contact details, contactable references as well as any information they feel may be pertinent to their application.? Please also include certified copies of all relevant certificates, ID, and proof of address no older than three months.? Candidates must be permanent South African residents and citizens.     Most candidates will also be required to have the following:

    Application

    Online Application is made available during the year. Candidates may be required to complete an online assessment, (this will take approximately 30 minutes) before starting the application process. There are some learnerships offered where the application forms can only be collected by an office of the department. Candidates can inquire at their campus careers center for open learnerships within the department, or at the department office closest to their home.

    Most applications require a Z83 application form and it must be handed in with all required certified documentation. Candidates can download the form from their website. Please ensure the application is signed and completed in full. Incomplete forms, or forms missing attachments, will not even be considered. Faxed or e-mailed application will also be rejected, if forms have been collected at the office of the department within your area, it must be returned there. However, if you apply online you do not need to go to the office in your area.

    Successful candidates will be informed within 3 weeks to 3 months after the closing date of the learnership.     The Medirite Pharmacist Assistant Learnership has been developed to provide a pathway to a career in both the pharmaceutical as well as retail industry.

    This will take the form of a Learnership Programme, which will allow the prospective beneficiary to qualify as a Pharmacist’s Assistant.
