Siphesihle Ndaba’s family and background
Siphesihle Ndaba was born on the 4th of August 1997, in Mofolo township, Soweto near Johannesburg.
Her single mother raised her with the help of her maternal grandmother as her father was a polygamist man with many wives and children.
In a past interview, she revealed that she had at least 18 siblings, two brothers from her mother’s side and 16 half-siblings from her father’s other marriages.
The youngest of her mother’s children, Siphesihle Ndaba has always acknowledged the father-figure role that her brothers played in her life. She posted a message on Instagram on Father’s Day in 2021 wishing his brothers a happy Father’s Day and thanking them for being present and caring fathers to her nephews and nieces.
Siphesihle Ndaba’s education
A bright student, Siphesihle Ndaba studied at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership for Girls School in Henley on Klip.
Besides her studies, Siphesihle also took an interest in music while in school and she was a member of the school’s Jazz band. She was also into sports and played several sports including touch rugby, tennis and cricket.
She later joined Rhodes University to pursue a degree in Dramatic Arts and she graduated in 2019. She also reportedly holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Psychology and Economics from Rhodes University.

Siphesihle Ndaba’s career
After graduating, Siphesihle Ndaba launched her career as a theatre actress and she appeared in a number of theatre productions including I am an Emotional Creature by Eve Ensler– directed by Coba Wilsenach, The witches by Roald Dahl – directed by Coba Wilsenach, and Race by David Mamet– directed by Tisetso Mashifane.
In 2020, she officially debuted her television career after she was cast as Zanele “MaZet” Thwala on Mzansi Magic’s telenovela- Gomora where she stars alongside some of the veteran talents in the film industry including Connie Chiume, Thembi Seete, Katlego Danke and Israel Matseke Zulu.
She revealed that her first day on the set of Gomora was difficult as she had to learn a lot of screen acting techniques as she discovered that theatre acting was quite different from screen acting.
Since the first episode of Gomora was aired, the show has attracted millions of viewers and Siphesihle Ndaba’s character as Mazet has received a lot of praise from fans.
