The star was born on 29 October 1986 in the Ikageng township of South Africa, close to Potchefstroom.

Katlego Maboe graduated from high school in 2004 and enrolled in a bachelor’s in Chartered Accounting from North-West University in 2007.

Katlego Maboe is trilingual, he can speak Afrikaans, English and Setswana fluently.

His interest in music was obvious from an early age. In 1998, he sang in the North West Children’s Choir.

That love for singing continued during his college days when he became a part of Flip A Coin, a South African acapella boy band. Here, he performed as a singer and a beatboxer.

The show was in Afrikaans. After this, he became a co-host on the SABC2 lifestyle magazine program 50/50, followed by the Expresso Breakfast Show on SABC3.

Here, he won the hearts of many fans and is considered to be the most popular of all the Expresso presenters.

The court has now ruled that Katlego Maboe doesn’t have a case to answer as far as abuse allegations are concerned.

Furthermore, he is now demanding R4 million for reputation and psychological damage from his ex-wife Monique, her brother, Sabrina Walters who is the founder of Women’s For Change and Janet Van Eeden, Chairperson of the judges for the National Film and Video Foundation.
