Rhythm City on eTV is coming to an end after 14 years of offering uncompromised entertainment to South African audiences. Nevertheless, a new and promising soapie called House of Zwide will replace it from the 19th of July, 2021. House of Zwide drama series portrays a fashionable Joburg family that runs one of the biggest South African fashion houses. Before the show eventually premieres, it is important to know more about the House of Zwide characters and other important facts.
House of Zwide on eTV will undoubtedly be one of the best local shows. This is because House of Zwide eTV actors are some of South Africa’s finest actors and actresses. At the same time, the show is produced by the best content creators. eTV launched the official House of Zwide trailer on the 24th of June, 2021, and you can tell that the show will take the entertainment industry by storm.
House of Zwide on eTV – background information
The new eTV soap opera centres on a highly fashionable and ambitious Johannesburg family. It is a fascinating rags-to-riches narration that revolves around drama in the fashion industry.
VideoVision Entertainment and Bomb Productions produced the soap opera. VideoVision Entertainment is known for great productions like Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Sarafina, A place of Weeping, Yesterday, and The Beloved Country. On the other hand, Bomb Productions is behind popular shows like Isibaya, Isithembiso, and Zone 14.
Desiree Markgraaff, Bomb Productions’ executive producer, expressed the creator’s excitement in following in Rhythm City‘s footsteps. She further said that the new show encourages people to never give up on their dreams. In her words, she said:
We acknowledge and are humbled to be following in the footsteps of Rhythm City, which has blazed a trail in this time slot. We’re very excited to be creating a new show for e.tv and hope viewers will welcome House Of Zwide.”
Interestingly, as part of preparing viewers’ minds for upcoming events, the House of Zwide Instagram page has pictures of some of the characters who will play different roles in the show. From all indications, it is a show you must not miss.
House of Zwide start date
The telenovela will premiere on Monday, the 19th of July, 2021, on eTV. House of Zwide time slot be will be from 7.00 p.m. from Mondays to Fridays, the primetime slot that Rhythm City currently holds. Rhythm City soapie will air its final episode on the 16th of July, 2021, marking the end of its 14-year era on the channel.
The official House of Zwide trailer was launched on the 24th of June, 2021.

Several big names in the South African entertainment industry and fresh talents are expected to headline the new drama series. Specifically, below are what you need to know about the role each character plays.
Paballo Mavundla
Paballo plays Sandile in the show. Based on his character, he is one of three interns at House of Zwide. Despite his good-looking and charming approach, he aims at winning all the time. Consequently, he is calm and calculating each time there is a need for it.
Wanda Zuma
Featuring as Nkosi Zwide, Zuma happens to be Funani and Faith’s firstborn son. Besides, he is the Crown prince of the Zwide family. He is the perfect man any woman will dream of having, although he is demon-possessed.
Londeka Mchunu
Londeka is known for her role as Zanele Zwide in the series. Apart from being Funani and Faith’s daughter, her father loves her so well. She is a social media frequent and will always have something to do on the Instagram platform. However, when she began to play as an influencer as regards the family business, that was when everyone began to see her as an asset.
