Based on the Dutch series De Verraders, The Traitors is an American reality television programme. Scottish actor Alan Cumming serves as its host.

Peacock premiered the first season on January 12, 2023. A second season of the show was ordered in February 2023.

The only major distinction between the American programme and its British equivalent, The Traitors, is that both are produced by Studio Lambert for the BBC and Peacock, and they both take place in Scotland and have similar aims. The props are also the same.

The First season was aired on 12 January 2023 and completed on 28 Feb 2023. The Winner of the first season were Cirie Fields Quentin Jiles and Andie Vanacore. The winner won the prize money of $250,000.

The Traitors US Season 3: Overview

According to the plot of prior seasons of De Verraders, the show’s contestants engage in a game similar to the party game Mafia, wherein a select few assume the role of the “Traitors” and collaborate to remove the other competitors in order to win the grand prize; the remaining contestants take on the role of “Faithfuls,” and their mission is to identify and remove the Traitors by casting their votes.
In the hopes of taking home a piece of the $250,000 prize, twenty competitors show up at a castle in the Scottish Highlands. Although the participants are known as the “Faithful,” there are also “Traitors” among them.
The presenter has chosen a group of candidates whose objective is to remove the Faithfuls and take the reward for themselves. If the True Believers manage to remove every Traitor, they will split the winnings; but, if any Traitors survive, they will take the money.
Every night, the traitors gather and choose one faithful player to “murder,” after which the victim quits the game right away. The next day, when that person fails to show up for breakfast at the castle, the surviving Faithful participants find out who has been eliminated.
Next, the crew embarks on a mission to increase the amount of money in the reward pool. In certain challenges, players can also go to the Armoury, where a single player is informally granted a shield that protects them from being killed but not from being voted banished.
No player will be removed for trying to murder the shield holder. The players vote for a player to be banished separately after discussing who should be voted out at the Round Table at the end of each day. Participants cast their votes in privacy before revealing each one to the public one at a time.
They might offer a succinct justification for their vote. The vote-getter is the first to go and discloses their affiliation. The chance to recruit a new player is granted to the Traitors who are still in the game after an opponent is removed.
The remaining players take part in the last challenge once the game has progressed to the final four. The options to “End Game” or “Banish Again” are presented to the players. The game is ended by a unanimous vote of “End Game,” however a single vote of “Banish Again” leads to another vote of banishment and then another vote of “Banish Again” or “End Game.”
If there are still players in the game and they are all faithful, the winnings are split equally. On the other hand, they win the entire pot if there are still Traitors.
