Idols SA has been renewed for a seventeenth season but with one significant change, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all the auditions will be held online.

Idols SA season 17 hopefuls will need to record themselves and send a clip to Idols SA in order to throw their name in the hat to follow in the footsteps of Zama Khumalo who has won Idols SA Season 16 today.

Before you vote for your favourite Idols SA 2025-2026 contestant(s), you will first need to register.

Voting for Idols SA is actually available through four, official platforms, meanwhile please check out all the Idols SA 2025-2026 ‘Season 16’ Theatre Week Group & Solo Performances HERE.

  • Official Idols SA website
  • Official Idols SA mobile site
  • The DStv App (this is different from the DStv NOW app) and
  • SMS

Voting on the Idols SA official website and mobile site is completely free, but first you’ll need to create an account and that’s ONLY if you haven’t already. Registered voters, don’t need to re-register.

Voting via the DStv app is also completely free and if you are already registered for voting on the Official Idols SA site, all you need to do is log in to the app. Below are the complete details:

  • Click on the Vote menu item. You can also navigate to the VOTE page using the link, www.idolssa.tv/vote
  • Click on REGISTER and enter your Name, Surname, Year of Birth, Gender, Location and Cellphone Number in the international format e.g. +27731896142 and your Preferred password.

  • Once registered, you will be able to vote.

  • Begin by downloading the DStv app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Just click here.
  • Launch the DStv app
  • Next, log into the app by entering your Mobile number or Email Address and your DStv Connect Password
  • After you have logged into the DStv app, you may vote for your favourite contestant(s) by clicking on the “Vote” banner inside the app. This will load the Idols SA voting webpage.
  • Click on REGISTER and enter your Name, Surname, Year of Birth, Gender, Location and Cellphone Number in the international format e.g. +27731234567 and your Preferred password.
  • NOTE: Please make sure to pick something you’ll remember when voting opens!
  • You will receive an OTP (One Time Pin) via SMS.
