About City University London
City, University of London (formerly known as City University London until 2016 and commonly called City) is a public research university located in London, United Kingdom. It was founded in 1894 as the Northampton Institute and became a university when The City University, London was created by royal charter in 1966. The Inns of Court School of Law, which merged with City in 2001, was established in 1852, making it the former City University’s oldest constituent part. On 1 September 2016, City joined the federal University of London, becoming part of the 18 Colleges and ten research institutes that make up the University.

The City Law School is firmly committed to a generous program of scholarships awarded on the basis of academic excellence. The Dean’s Scholarship – a full-fee scholarship – is offered to the most outstanding candidates across all postgraduate and professional programs in The City Law School.
Eligibility for the City Law School Dean’s Scholarship for Academic Excellence:
- Applicants must hold an upper second or first-degree (or international equivalent).
- Candidates should hold an offer of a place on one of the courses specified below at The City Law School. The offer can be conditional or unconditional and they do not need to have accepted their place in order to apply for a scholarship.
- Students can be of any fee-paying status (Home, EU or international) and be studying full-time or part-time.

Note:
If a student has been awarded a City Law School Scholarship for Academic Excellence earlier in the year, they will be considered for an upgrade to City Law School Dean’s Scholarship for Academic Excellence in June (for BVS & SPP students) or during the second round (for GDL and Master of Laws students).
