STANLIB was formed in the year 2002, when a merger occurred between Standard Corporate and Merchant Bank (a subsidiary of Standard Bank of South Africa Limited) and Liberty Asset Management (LIBAM) (a subsidiary of Liberty Holdings). The company is currently the largest unit trust company according to market share, which manages capital for its over 500 000 clients.

The South African multi-specialist asset manager company is located in Johannesburg, operates in 8 countries throughout Africa as well as in international key developed markets, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of JSE-listed Liberty Holdings Limited. STANLIB connect their institutional and retail clients with numerous investment opportunities across various asset markets and classes.

ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

Stanlib bursaries are awarded to deserving students each year, within the following fields of study:

  • Accounting
  • Actuarial Sciences
  • Economics
  • Finance
  • Investment Management

 

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted – if you have not received any feedback within 3 weeks of the application deadline, regard your application as unsuccessful.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric
  • Strong academic record
  • Achieved a minimum overall average of 70% in all courses/ subjects
  • Studied Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy)
  • Studying towards an Undergraduate (first/ second/ third year) or Postgraduate (Honours) qualification
  • Studying within one of the aforementioned fields
  • From a previously disadvantaged background

 

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE BURSARY

Download and complete the Stanlib Bursary Application Form (.pdf)
Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):

  • ID document (certified copy of)
  • Parents/ guardians ID documents (certified copies of)
  • If parents are deceased, death certificate (certified copy of)
  • Parents/ guardians latest payslip
  • Matric students: copy of this years June results
  • University student: copy of full academic transcript
