Here has been plenty of chatter and analysis about who has the advantage in for Friday’s fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul.

There is no question Tyson holds the experience edge.

He turned pro at 18, is a former heavyweight champion and is known for his debilitating blows.

Now, he is returning to the ring at 58 for his first sanctioned bout since 2005.

Paul has not been boxing long and while his record is solid, some critics say he has not been challenged.

Start time

The fight will stream live globally, exclusively on Netflix on Friday, 15 November from the 80 000-seat capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.

According to Netflix, the event is scheduled to begin at 20:00 (Eastern Time) / 03:00 (SA time on Saturday, 16 November) and “will be available to stream live globally on all Netflix plans, at no additional cost to subscribers.”

The Paul vs Tyson bout is one of four boxing matches on the main card.

Viewers will get the following matches in order:

Neeraj Goyat vs Whindersson Nunes (six 3-minute rounds)

Mario Barrios vs Abel Ramos (for the WBC welterweight world title, which will be 12, 3-minute rounds).

The third fight on the card will be a rematch between Katie Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs) and unified featherweight world champion Amanda Serrano (47-2-1, 31 KOs) for the undisputed super lightweight world title.

The Taylor vs Serrano match is set for 10 two-minute rounds.

The last fight on the main card is Paul and Tyson’s match, which is set for eight 2-minute rounds.

It’s likely to start closer to 06:00 (SA time).

The streamer noted that the event will also “feature live commentary in English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French and German.”

Tale of the tape

A scrum of security swiftly intervened to separate the two fighters following the incident before Tyson was ushered away.

‘Talking’s over’

Mike Tyson, who weighed in at 228.4 pounds after stepping onto the scales wearing only a pair of Versace briefs, barely spoke before leaving the stage.

“Talking’s over,” Tyson said before making his exit with members of his entourage.

Paul, the 27-year-old Youtuber-turned-boxer, insisted he had not been hurt by Tyson’s open-handed slap, which drew gasps from the audience.

“I didn’t even feel it – he’s angry. He’s an angry little elf… cute slap buddy,” said Paul, who weighed in at 227.2 pounds.

Paul concluded his remarks with an expletive-laden pledge to knock Tyson out, before roaring theatrically into a microphone: “He must die.”

Tyson is reportedly being paid $20 million for Friday’s officially sanctioned bout in Texas, which will be comprised of eight two-minute rounds.

The contest, being streamed live on Netflix, has divided opinion across the boxing world, with many prominent figures decrying the prospect of Tyson lacing up his gloves nearly 40 years after his professional debut and 19 years after his last officially sanctioned fight.
