Lonmin plc produces Platinum Group Metals (PGMs), which are used in numerous industrial applications. The companies main operations consists of 11 inclines and shafts, located in South Africa’s Bushveld Igneous Complex.

The Lonmin Learnership programme includes theoretical teaching and practical training, taught by field experts. Students will receive a stipend each month, but transport and meals will be for the students own account.
DUTIES
Some of the Lonmin learnership duties may include:
- Achieve objectives and goals as set by management
- Deliver results as expected
- Ensure that tasks and objectives are met
- Complete all development program phases in the allocated time frame
- Assist team member in finishing tasks
- Perform tasks per safety standards
- Abide by regulations set by senior management and the mining authority
- Communicate with and report to other team members and supervisors
- Support and promote a healthy, positive work environment
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Candidates interested in applying for this learnership position should ensure that they meet the following criteria – failure to meet ALL of these requirements will result in your application being denied.
- South African citizen
- Completed Matric OR NQF 4
- Achieved a minimum of 60% for Mathematics (Standard Grade) OR 50% for Mathematics (Higher Grade) in Matric
- Achieved a minimum of 60% for Science (Standard Grade) OR 50% for Science (Higher Grade) in Matric
- Good command of the English language (able to read, write and speak English)
- Computer literate
- Know how to use MS Office
- Work well in a team
- Must be self-motivated
- Good mathematical/ numerical skills
- Good organisational and planning skills
- Must have good hand-to-eye coordination
- Willing to work
- Committed to learning
- Must follow procedures and take instructions
