In the province of Gauteng, Johannesburg, Israel Matseke was born in 1974. He was born in the South African suburb of Alexandra, close to Johannesburg, the second oldest of his family’s five children. Although he went to Gordon Combined School, he sadly started living a life of crime in 1988. Due to his house invasions, Israel Matseke Zulu was put behind bars in 1996.[1]

He appeared in the eTV drama series Z’bondiwe in 2015 as Killer’s right-hand guy, Jakes Masilo. In November 2016, he made his Mzansi Magic serial opera isiBaya debut as the gangster Cyprian Gumbi. Since then, he has made numerous television and film appearances, most recently portraying Don in Gomora.
