In the early 2000s, Mbali landed her first TV role in a series that aired from 2006 to 2009. Later, she hosted Young, Gifted, and Black, an award-winning series by Channel O. She also hosted several other shows and made quite the name for herself.

In 2015, Mbali launched her maternity fashion line called SE Preggoz. Her line had outlets in South Africa as well as New York. She stated that she wanted expecting mothers to continue to look good and feel sexy as they grew larger.
