DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: East London, Eastern Cape
Duration: 12 Months

ELCB is offering an internship for a candidate interested in joining the company in the role of Intern Developer. The selected candidate will assist Developers with their daily development tasks, and will be supervised by a Direct Manager and Mentors they have been assigned to work with.
Key Performance Areas of the Programme:

  • Writing up of technical documentation
  • Providing Mid Developers and Senior Developers with development support
  • Ensuring compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Constant improvement of the following: Estimations; Work Throughput; Ability & Skills; Communication; Return Rate
  • Remaining accountable for work you do
  • Performing programming and related tasks, including: Testing; Technical Investigations; Writing code; Debugging errors; Planning & Estimations

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Education requirement: must have completed a Degree or Diploma in Computer Science / Information Systems
  • Microsoft Certifications (advantageous but not essential)
  • Must have an understanding of OOP
  • Must be willingness to learn
  • Must pay close attention to detail
  • Must be able to follow instructions well
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Must be able to be a team member
  • Must be an innovative thinker
  • Must have strong time management skills (including being organised, prioritising tasks, setting goals, and planning
  • Must have good communication skills (including writing skills, speaking skills, professional email etiquette, communicating honestly with team members and communicating with the mentor)
