About Victoria University of Wellington
Victoria University of Wellington (Māori: Te Whare Wānanga o Te Ūpoko o Te Ika a Māui) is a university in Wellington, New Zealand. It was established in 1897 by Act of Parliament, and was a constituent college of the University of New Zealand.

Description:
The scholarship is awarded annually to a New Zealand School of Music (NZSM) violin, viola and violoncello student who is a returning student. NZSM string staff may also apply. A particular purpose of the scholarship is to fund postgraduate study, travel, accommodation and other expenses incurred in the pursuit of such study, both within and outside New Zealand.

Eligibility for the Barbara Finlayson Scholarship:
Applicants must be current violin, viola or violoncello students, enrolled at any level in the NZSM at Victoria University of Wellington.
Documents required:
- A personal statement outlining reasons for applying for the scholarship
- A study plan and a detailed budget covering expenses
- A reference from an academic (or supervisor).
Value of the Scholarship:
Successful applicants of the Barbara Finlayson Music Scholarship will receive an award of $15,000.
