It was held at Montecasino in Joziburg and the decor was a celebration of Nguni culture, wrapped in an ambiance of then and now.
The who’s who of the cast were there, and the evening featured a screening of the first episode which premieres this Sunday 18 June at 20h00.

She’s also one of the show’s executive producers, along with Desireé Markgraaff and Nhlanhla Mtaka.

Dawn Thandeka King plays Princess Mkabayi,
King Senzangakhona’s sister and Shaka’s aunt.
Sthandiwe Kgoroge plays King Senzangakhona’s mother,
Shaka’s grandmother.
Visual artist Trevor Stuurman, who created a photographic installation for the event, with Bomb’s Desireé Markgraaff and Angus Gibson, creative director of the series.
