About Uzalo

Uzalo is a South African soapie drama conceptualized and produced by Stained Glass productions. It has been running since 9 February 2015 and is now in its 4th season.
The soapie is an intriguing, authentic and bold soapie that tells the story of two family empires, the Mdletshes and, the Xulus, as well as the two young males who carry their hopes and legacy.

Uzalo latest episodes show that the two households are submerged in opposing worlds of church and crime respectively. South African Drama Uzalo 15 January 2020 additionally throws the issues of family connections and loyalties against personal ambition into sharp relief– from loving patriarchs who expend unpleasant influence on their ambitious, young sons. This also goes to the tension developed among family members when one of them chooses to work toward their own career goals and reject the family business. The Mdletshes are a Religious family with its originator pastor Melusi Mdletshe (Bheki Mkhwane) administering over the charismatic Kingdom of Canaan Church and its encouraging gospel choir. The church gives a strong moral standard that is in absolute conflict with the Xulu household, ruled by Muzi Xulu (Mpumelelo Bhulose), which is committed in a life of crime.
