Apply for One Question 2024 Casting Start Date Host Prize

Main course:

  • On the main stage, seven celebrities, each identified as an authority on a separate topic, are seated in chairs positioned around the periphery of a wheel that measures 13 meter’s (43 feet) in diameter.
  • They face in the direction of the centre, beneath which is a smaller wheel that serves as a secondary stage, seating three competitors in chairs.
  • A contender is selected at random by spinning this wheel, and they are then wheeled up to the main stage in their chair.
  • Every round, the competitor selects a topic, the expert whose seat lights up gold, and another expert to “shut down”—that is, the expert whose seat lights up red, meaning they think is least likely to know about it.
  • After that, the wheel is spun to select an expert at random; if it does not stop on the “shut-down” expert, the presenter poses a question with four possible replies. A correct answer adds £10,000 to the bank if the subject expert was spun, or £3,000 if it wasn’t.
  • The competitor may confer with the expert before responding. Contestants lose their turn and are dropped back onto the smaller wheel, which is spun to select a new participant, if they spin an expert who has been shut down or miss a question.
  • After being dismissed, a competitor may come back into the game right away because the selection is random and all three are always available to be chosen.
  • Until a competitor correctly responds to a question in a subject, that subject stays in play. The other six experts respond to the question as well, locking in their responses with keypads.
  • Not only is the expert selected by the contestant eliminated, but so is any expert who fails to answer a question in their own topic, regardless of whether they were spun for it. The bank receives a bonus of £5,000 if all seven experts provide accurate answers (a “Perfect Wheel”).
  • When there is just one subject left, all other experts’ seats that aren’t shut down yet and haven’t been spun during the game turn silver.
  • If the wheel stops on any of these seats, the question value is set at £6,000. The competitor in question advances to the final round and has the first opportunity to win the bank after all seven subjects have been used.

Profit-Spinning:

  • This round, which was added in the second series, is played to boost the bank following the third question. The wheel slowly rotates through one full rotation after the host poses a question with at least seven possible responses.
  • As they advance passed the pointer, each expert is required to respond; the bank gains £1,000 for each accurate response. If all seven answer correctly, an additional £3,000 is added, potentially making a total increase of £10,000.
  • The round finishes right away if any expert answers incorrectly or doesn’t answer at all. At the beginning of this round, the host introduces the topic of the question, and the contestant selects which expert will respond first.

Finally, Cash Out:

  • By the number of questions they properly answered during the game, the experts are rated. The winner will get 50%, 100%, or 200% of the banked total depending on which of the contestant’s choices the greatest, fourth-best, or poorest performer to help them.
  • Next, the host poses a question and spins the wheel to select one of the next three topics. Before deciding on a response, the competitor has 30 seconds to confer with the selected expert about it.
  • The game concludes when the contestant gets the money that was at stake with a correct response.
  • A new competitor is selected and the loser is sent back to the smaller wheel if they miss. The topic of the missed question, the expert selected for it, and the related award are all taken out of the game.
  • All of the competitors will lose if they fail to answer any of the questions posed by the three experts.
