ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED
Sasol bursaries will be awarded within the following fields of study:

MORE ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – COVERAGE VALUE
The bursary will provide full cover for the following expenses:
Undergraduate University and University of Technology students: registration fees, tuition fees, exam fees, accommodation in residence or an equivalent allowance, meals, and an allowance for books and pocket money to a maximum of R12 000 per year.
University of Technology students will also have the opportunity to to complete their academic requirements (S1 – S4) at a University of Technology, as well as practical training aspects (P1 and P2) – at Sasol.
Postgraduate students: all academic costs necessary for graduation, a monthly stipend for 12 months to assist with payment of registration fees, tuition fees, accommodation and all other study expenses.
MORE ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – SERVICE CONTRACT
Once undergraduate students have completed their qualification, they will be required to work for Sasol for the equal duration of bursary funding received.
Postgraduate students will be able to join the Sasol Graduate Development programme or the Scientists in Training development programme when they have graduated.
MORE ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – SELECTION
Undergraduate University and University of Technology students: Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by 31 May 2020 at the latest, and will be invited to attend an interview (correspondence will be written and telephonic). Interviews will take place during the June July public school holidays, which will include psychometric tests and a structured panel interview.
Postgraduate students: Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by 30 June 2020 at the latest, and will be invited to attend an interview (correspondence will be written and telephonic). Interviews will take place during the July public school holidays, which will include presentations on the applicants research proposal and a structured panel interview.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
University Undergraduate studies:
- South African citizen
- Completed Matric or currently in Matric
- Studying or intend on studying full-time towards a Bachelors Degree (BSc or BEng) within one of the aforementioned fields of study
- Studying or intend at an accredited public University in South Africa (NOT a private University)
- If currently in Matric or 1st year of study in 2020: must have achieved a minimum result of 70% for Mathematics, 70% for Physical Science, 60% for English 60% AND passed all other subjects
- If currently studying and have passed 1st year: must have achieved a minimum result 50% for all subjects registered in 2019
- Science students: must intend on studying towards an Honours degree
University of Technology studies:
- South African citizen
- Completed or currently in Matric
- Achieved a minimum of Level 5 (60%) for Mathematics, Science and English in Matric
- Intend on studying towards a Diploma or Degree within one of the aforementioned fields of study
- Intend on studying at an accredited University of Technology in South Africa
- Will be starting S1 level of study (if you have already completed S1, you cannot apply)
Postgraduate University studies:
- South African citizen
- Completed Matric
- Completed an Undergraduate qualification
- Studying or intend on studying full-time towards a Masters or PhD Degree within one of the aforementioned fields of study
- Studying or intend at an accredited University in South Africa
- Good academic record
- Clear criminal record
