Personal Life

Ntsiki Mazwai was born on 3 September 1980 in Pimville, Soweto. She is the daughter of two of the most renowned writers of the South African history of revolution.

Belede Mazwai, her mother, was a military journalist who made game-changing contributions to the newsprint industry. On the other hand, Dr Thami, Ntsiki Mazwai’s father, was the editor of the Sowetan.

Ntsiki Mazwai and her sister Thandiswa have always had each other’s back. They’ve demonstrated this when either one of them has had to face public criticism.

However, things are quite tense with her younger sister Nomsa Mazwai. Nomsa, like her, is a talented and well-respected singer and composer in South Africa who is known for her work in the Alternative and Indie genres.

InstagramThis may be the cause of the excessive sibling rivalry that we have seen between Nomsa and Ntsiki Mazwai.

The sibling rivalry runs deeper than most expect. There have been physical fights between the two. Nomsa said Ntsiki Mazwai, who went to the same school as her, was a protective big sister.

However, she also acted as her principal and would keep watch on every move that Nomsa made. According to Nomsa, her sister Ntsiki Mazwai was a tattletale, and nothing got past her.
