This is what we need for early 2021… a sxy TV show, starring lusty South Africans, tucked away in a villa, looking for lurve.

M-Net has acquired the rights to the international reality format Love Island and the search is on for single hearts who want to be on it.

As you may know, the British and American versions have been airing on M-Net in the late-night timeslot of 23h00, and the most recent British season was filmed in Cape Town – the setting for ours too.

Reality stalwarts Rapid Blue (Come Dine With Me, Strictly Come Dancing) are producing ours and filming is scheduled to take place in Cape Town soon, for a February 2021 premiere.

If you want to enter, this is what you need to know:

The format

A group of single ā€œIslandersā€ come together for a summer of love, friendships and relationships.

Every few days the Islanders must couple-up. Those who fail to find a partner risk being evicted from the island.

In between, everyone faces multiple challenges: new Islander arrivals, format twists and competitive tasks.

Islanders have to choose their partners wisely and must also win the hearts of viewers who shape events by voting for their faves.

At the end: one couple are crowned as the winners, who have the chance to walk away with both love and the cash prize of R500,000.

How to apply

Applications open in the local productions section of M-Net’s website this Sunday (8 November). We have no doubt you’ll have to be over 18 for this one.
