    Mkhondo Municipality is a link between Kwa-Zulu Natal, Swaziland and Mpumalanga. Mkhondo Municipality is one of the first sites of the Comprehensive Rural Development Programme, which was first launched in 2009 by the President of South Africa. Mkhondo is home to many wood-based industries with a number of companies establishing an industrial base in the municipality. They are a municipality that has many resources such as water, timber and coal as well as fishing dams and land that aid in the agriculture and forestry industry.

    DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

    Location: Mokhondo, Mpumalanga
    Duration: 24 months
    Number of Positions Available: 3
    Salary: R7 000 to R7 500 per month

    Mkhondo Municipality is offering an internship opportunity to dynamic candidates with the aim of helping them establish a career in Local Government Finance. The programme is provided as an initiative of the National Treasury’s Financial Management and Budget Reform Programme.

    Key Performance Areas of the Programme:

    • Providing assistance with month-end reports
    • Ensuring journal entries are posted
    • Performing Financial Management reforms and the Municipality Finance Management Act
    • Providing assistance with accounts payable, receivable and bank statement reconciliations
    • Providing assistance with Audits
    • Performing Balance Sheet reconciliation
    • Aiding the finance department on annual forecasting efforts
    • Ensuring physical inventory is managed and tracked on a monthly basis
    • Data Entry
    • Performing general financial management tasks
    • Providing assistance in monthly report preparation
    • Providing assistance to financial queries

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

    Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

    • Must have completed Matric (NSC)
    • Must have completed either of the following qualifications: N6 Certificate / Diploma / Degree in: Accounting / Internal Auditing / Economics / Financial Management or a relevant equivalent qualification
    • Must be computer literate
    • Must have a valid drivers licence
    • Must be a resident of Mkhondo (advantageous)
    • Must NOT have participated/be currently involved in another programme
    • Must have excellent communication skills
    • Must be willing to work overtime
    • Must be able to handle and take orders and direction well
    • Must be able to work well with others
    • Must have excellent skills in numeracy

    Rhodes Food Group have an internship position for a Logistics Graduate who is seeking practical training. A Diploma qualification in Logistics/ Supply Chain and less than 1 year working experience in Food & Beverage Manufacturing / less than 1 year working experience in Logistics Management is required.

    Responsibilities, functions and key activities of the position:

    • Planning, managing and coordinating transport (inbound and outbound)
    • Coordinating logistics operations – booking to final destination of the product
    • Liaissing and co-ordinating with supervisors from receiving hub about consolidation orders
    • Scheduling, booking, coordinating and completing paperwork for orders
    • Generating TPO (transport purchase orders) and packaging materials orders
    • Verifying and assisting with invoicing of completed goods stock – generating customer invoices
    • Working with clients daily to ensure shipping requirements are met for every shipment
    • Ensuring booking requests are dealt with and specific requests are executed
    • Assisting with coordinating orders and loading dates with customers
    • Entering schedule information into the system for preparation of releases, bookings and other requests
    • Managing workflow (incoming and outgoing) and preparing information
    • Coordinating loading with supervisors, dispatch teams and transporters
    • Assisting with internal and external clients regarding logistics issues
    • Compiling order, shipping and document delivery reports (weekly and monthly)
    • Assisting with yearly and monthly physical stock counting and processing of stock take until confirmation

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
